When Jackée Harry isn’t making a splash on “Days of our Lives” as Paulina Price during the daytime, you can always catch up with her in primetime for the third and final season of FX’s critically acclaimed drama series “Pose.” The actress recently confirmed reports that she would be joining the cast as the “repentant aunt” to Billy Porter‘s character, Pray Tell.
In its review of the show’s final episodes, EW says, “The series struts into the sunset on a note of hope and renewal, having imagined the happy ending that so many queer men and women were — and still are — denied.”
“Pose” puts a spotlight on the legends, icons and ferocious house mothers of New York’s underground ball culture, a movement that first gained notice in the late 1980s. Featuring the largest cast of transgender actors in series regular roles and the largest recurring cast of LGBTQ actors ever for a scripted series, the new season brings us to 1994 and the ballroom feels like a distant memory for Blanca (Mj Rodriguez) who struggles to balance being a mother with being a present partner to her new love, and her latest role as a nurse’s aide. Meanwhile, as AIDS becomes the leading cause of death for Americans ages 25 to 44, Pray Tell (Porter) contends with unexpected health burdens. Elsewhere, the emergence of a vicious new upstart house forces the House of Evangelista members to contend with their legacy.
“Pose” launches its third and final season on Sunday, May 2 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on FX with the first two of its seven-episode run. The series finale will air Sunday, June 6.
