THE SCOOP

He played Ryan Lavery on “All My Children” from 1998-2011, and now actor Cameron Mathison is set to return to the daytime drama world on “General Hospital.”

According to Deadline, Mathison’s first job after the recent cancellation of the Hallmark Channel lifestyle series, “Home & Family,” which he co-hosted with Debbie Matenopoulos and returned with all-new episodes today, will be on “GH” in an as yet to be announced role.

Since the cancellation of “AMC” in 2011, Mathison has kept himself quite busy. He’s starred in a multitude of Hallmark Channel and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries TV movies, including “Murder, She Baked” alongside “Days of our Lives” star Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady), was a correspondent and weekend co-host of “Entertainment Tonight,” a contributor for ABC’s “Good Morning America” and has appeared on numerous occasions on “The Talk” and “Live with Kelly and Ryan,” among others

In addition to no news on his character, there is also no word yet on when fans can expect to see Mathison on “GH.” His casting follows news of the show bringing back actor Sean Blakemore in the role of Shawn Butler.
