On Thursday, March 4, CBS All Access was rebranded to become Paramount+, the all-encompassing direct-to-consumer streaming service from ViacomCBS. In doing so, the service has become the exclusive home to an expanded episode library consisting of daytime soaps “The Bold and the Beautiful” and “The Young and the Restless.”
In a statement, a spokesperson for Paramount+ tells Soap Opera Network, “Paramount+ subscribers will have the same access to daytime dramas like ‘The Young and the Restless’ and ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ as they did with CBS All Access.” This means subscribers are able to view full episodes of “Y&R’s” current 48th season and select episodes of “B&B” from its first season through its 26th season, and full episodes from season 27 onward. Currently, there are just over 100 episodes of “Y&R” and nearly 3,000 episodes of “B&B” available to view on Paramount+.
With a one month trial period available through March 31, subscriptions to Paramount+ range from as low as $5.99 a month/$59.99 annually* for the limited option with commercials and a $9.99 a month/$99.99* annual commercial-free option.
In addition to “B&B,” “Y&R” and a plethora of CBS programming, Paramount+ also includes TV shows and movies from cable networks BET, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Smithsonian Channel, and Paramount Pictures. Also available with a subscription is access to your local CBS station’s programming based on your location.
For those who choose not to purchase a subscription to Paramount+, ViacomCBS has made available the CBS App on the App Store and the Google Play Store. “The new CBS app features free entertainment, including the trailing five episodes of primetime series from CBS. Users who authenticate their TV provider will have access to complete series and local live stations,” the spokesperson says.
*Annual options are discounted at 15% when purchased as part of your plan. A month-to-month subscription over a 12-month period will cost $71.88 with the limited commercial option or $119.88 for the commercial-free option.
