Although impeachment trial proceedings have interrupted all or part of “The Young and the Restless” for much of this week, behind the scenes it is business as usual at daytime’s number one drama. The soap recently announced that actor Christian Keyes will join the cast of the CBS drama series beginning next month as Amanda’s (Mishael Morgan) former fiancé, Ripley Turner.
Scheduled to debut on the Wednesday, February 5 episode of the soap, fans will finally get a chance to see the man that Amanda filed a restraining order against and has been hiding from all these months.
While “Y&R” marks Keyes’ first daytime role, the actor is no stranger to television with starring roles in such shows as “Let’s Stay Together,” “Saints & Sinners” and the BET drama “In Contempt.” He’s also appeared in episodes of The CW’s “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow” and “Supernatural.” Keyes most recently appeared as a doctor in “9-1-1.”
Note: With continued coverage of the impeachment trial, Keyes’ debut is subject to change.
