THE SCOOP

While “General Hospital” has yet to confirm that actor Billy Miller has wrapped his run as Drew Cain on the ABC drama series, the actor’s long-time manager, Marnie Sparer, shared a tribute video that included an emotional letter written by the actor dedicated to his “friends.”

In the letter, Miller wrote, “With a slight air of sadness, it is time to ponder what ‘Goodbye’ means. However, instead of dwelling on what is gone and sure to be missed, there is another way. Maybe our goodbye is really a remembrance of love felt, an appreciation for lives shared, and the lifelong reminisces that come from embraces given and received. Maybe our goodbye is an earnest hope for the brightest path forward for us all. Maybe our goodbye is honoring growth and lessons learned. Now, instead of sadness, I am filed with gratitude for all your support, encouragement, and every emotion shared. I cherish the journey we have taken together.” In closing the actor said, “Thank you for allowing me into your homes and lives. With every ounce of myself, I thank you for being you. I would be remiss in this crazy, unpredictable world we all love so much if I did not hold out the possibility that maybe our GOODBYE is really….UNTIL NEXT TIME. All My Love.”

The minute long video has already amassed over 16,000 views since it was published late Sunday evening on Twitter. In addition to the letter written by Miller, the video included pictures of balloons and other gifts he received on his reported last day of work, which is said to have been Friday, July 26. The video concludes with a picture of Miller with co-star Kelly Monaco (Sam McCall) on his back as he holds up the peace sign. The written message on the photo said, “To the best Partner I have ever had – who has my back and I have her’s because it takes Two!” The message ended with the word “deuces,” in reference to the two fingers he is holding up.

Joining the cast of “GH” in 2014 as a recast Jason Morgan, Miller is a three-time Daytime Emmy Award Winner whose previous credits include his Award-winning role as Billy Abbott on “The Young and the Restless” and as Richie Novak on “All My Children.” In story, it was revealed in 2017 that Miller’s iteration of Jason was really the character’s twin brother, Drew. This change in storyline was the result of the character’s previous portrayer, Steve Burton, opting to return to the soap following a multi-year stint at “Y&R.”

No word yet on when fans can expect to last see Miller in Port Charles, but it could be as early as late August/early September based on the soap’s current filming schedule.
