THIS WEEK: Genoa City Mourns the Loss of Neil Winters on ‘Y&R’

Watch this week's promo of "The Young and the Restless" as Genoa City celebrates the life of Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John).

This week on “The Young and the Restless,” Genoa City mourns the loss of Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John), who is found to have passed away by Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) on today’s episode. In the recently released promo highlighting the four-episode story arc in which friends, family and colleagues come together to share their love and memories of a fallen star who touched every facet of the town, the emotions run high and the tears flow long.

Using such solemn words as “One extraordinary man touched the lives of so many and will never be forgotten,” this week’s promo features music from the group Darlingside with their song “Hold Your Head Up High,” off of their 2018 album Extralife, setting the tone.

“I don’t know if I would even be here right now without him,” proclaims a devastated Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) as she clutches her chest.

“I just thought he’d always be there,” says an emotional Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson) as she looks up holding a fist.

“Neil didn’t just touch lives, he saved lives,” declares Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) as he speaks from the heart during Neil’s funeral, which is scheduled to air on Thursday, April 25.

“I don’t want to think about a world without Neil Winters in it,” says Neil’s brother, Malcolm (Shemar Moore), as a clip of Neil’s ex-wife Sofia Dupre (Julia Pace Mitchell), their son Moses (Dax Randall), Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway), Leslie Michaelson (Angell Conwell), Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell), Sharon Newman (Sharon Case), Nikki, Ashley and Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), among others, flies by.

The promo ends with Shemar Moore’s trademark two-finger kiss as he salutes the man above.

“Farewell to Neil Winters: The Young and the Restless” airs Tuesday, April 23 through Friday, April 26 on CBS. “A Tribute to Kristoff St. John” airs Monday, April 29, also on CBS.
