THE SCOOP

The Bold and the Beautiful” is losing another one.

Less than a month since Rome Flynn (Zende Forrester Dominguez) announced plans to depart the CBS daytime drama series, comes word that the soap will be losing another rising star. This time, it’s Pierson Fodé (Thomas Forrester).

The actor, who joined the series in July 2015, made the announcement in a recent interview with Soap Opera Digest, published earlier today on the magazine’s website.

“I’ll tell you what. As far as my time goes in L.A., this has been one of the hardest decisions I’ve made,” said Fodé to Digest. “I’ve invested two-and-a-half years of my life into this. You really do create this relationship on set with people, and you get used to seeing them every day. I’m also getting a steady paycheck, and I’m getting some notoriety out of it and some different things, but the decision that went into it was hard because you want to have your cake and eat it, too. You want to be there and I still want to go off and shoot a Marvel movie. I want to still be shooting on ‘B&B’ and I want to do a Netflix series, and at the end of the day, you can’t do it all. And that was the choice that I had to make.”

Soap Opera Network has learned that Fodé, who has already completed filming at the soap, will last appear on the Wednesday, September 13 episode of “B&B.”

Shortly after news of his departure came to light, Fodé shared a heartfelt message in a posting on his Instagram page for his friends and colleagues at the show and at the network, as well as the fans who have watched him throughout his “Bold” journey.

“The decision to say goodbye to ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ didn’t come easily, but with sleepless nights and countless questions,” the actor said. “What a surreal experience to have but ultimately I have to go where my heart leads me. It’s what we all have to do. I can’t be more thankful to have had a boss like Bradley Bell [‘B&B’ executive producer] who understood and encouraged my decision to explore. Thank you to every hard working soul at CBS Daytime and ‘Bold’ who let me work beside you. And thank you to all the fans that not only accepted me but championed me through my time on the show. At some point, I will likely have to pass the baton of Thomas to another hideous looking guy;) but when the time comes for him to step into my shoes, I hope my performance will haunt him for the rest of his life. Thanks for allowing me into all of your lives and I hope you follow me on my journey to new things.” He concluded his post with the hashtag “Dreams.”

In a statement, a “B&B” spokeswoman says, “We wish Pierson all the best in his future endeavors.”
