Before “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” Lisa Rinna was best known for her portrayal as Billie Reed on NBC’s “Days of our Lives.” Nearly five years since she last appeared on the soap, the actress is heading back to Salem for another go. Will it be Billie vs. Hope (Kristian Alfonso) 4.0, or will something else capture the character’s attention?
According to Entertainment Weekly, which first reported the news, Rinna reported back to the “DAYS” set this week to begin taping her multi-episode appearance on the daytime drama series. Unfortunately, due to the show’s advanced taping schedule, fans won’t see her on air until at least February 2018.
“Excited Billie’s back in Salem!” tweeted Greg Meng, co-executive producer. He used the hashtags “StayTuned” and “buckleup.” Ron Carlivati, head writer of the soap, tweeted “Paging Billie Reed….,” which Rinna responded to with emojis.
In addition to “DAYS,” Rinna has been featured in such shows as “Melrose Place” and “Veronica Mars,” among several others. The actress is set to play Tammy Brooks on “The Middle,” the “fun, charming and filthy rich mother” of Lexie (Daniela Bobadilla), Axl’s (Charlie McDermott) girlfriend and Sue’s (Eden Sher) best friend and roommate. The episode is scheduled for Tuesday, October 9 on ABC.
