“All My Children’s” Alicia Minshew (ex-Kendall Hart) is heading to prime time. The actress has landed a starring role in the pilot “Holiday Shelter,” which began filming January 11 in White Plains, NY.

The true-story dramedy stars Minshew as a newly widowed teacher with two teenage children, who takes in a homeless (and fatherless) family during the Christmas holidays.  The two clans experience the ups, downs and struggles of living together and, in the process, form a warm bond with each other.

Holiday Shelter is written and directed by Pat Denson and executive produced by Gary Denson. Jenn Gotzon (“Doonby,” “God’s Country”) also stars in the project.

Gotzon took to Twitter to announce her excitement over the pending pilot, noting that she was “uber stoked” to be working on a show with an “all-star cast like @alicia_minshew.”

Minshew tweeted back, “This is going to be a super sweet and fun show! Stoked to work with this beauty too!”

The actress also shared that the new series will be streamed on Hulu.
