The Numbers That Got Carlivati Fired As ‘GH’s’ Head Writer

As previously reported, “” will soon be saying goodbye to scribe and hello again to co-head writers  and when the team officially takes over writing duties next month, with material not expected to fully hit the screen until mid-October, according to insiders. But what forced ABC to make a change in its writing regime? Ratings, of course! Thirteen consecutive weeks of ratings lows that is.

Per our very own rating guru, Toups, “GH’s” demo ratings woes began in March and only kept falling further and further down following a poor May sweeps performance and record lows in June in both Women 18-49 rating and Women 18-49 viewers. With “,” which is currently in the midst of beginning yet another reboot, already surpassing “GH” in the dailies for the past couple of weeks, Carlivati’s fate was sealed.
