UPDATE 11:40 AM, ET: Marcil has since responded to McCullough’s tweet saying, “@whitewatercrew It’s personal news not work related #Psychofan But, I love me some Robin Scorpio…….”

While we wish her luck with whatever she’s been up to, especially in relation to her personal news, it is disheartening to hear Brenda remains somewhere off in the fictional universe, adventures unknown.

PREVIOUS 2:18 AM, ET: Looking as fit as ever, fans of Brenda Barrett on ABC’s “General Hospital” might be in for a nice surprise as Vanessa Marcil tweeted a selfie late last night from a then undisclosed location with the caption: “Aaaaaahhhhhh!!!!! About to share big news! So excited! What news do y’all have to share? I won’t tell anyone….” Unfortunately for Marcil her news may have been spoiled a tad by Kimberly McCullough (ex-Robin Scorpio), who responded to Marcil’s tweet and said, “@VanessaMarcilM you’re in a #GH dressing room, I can tell #psychofan.” Could it be true? Is Brenda really headed back to Port Charles in the near future?

When we last saw Brenda it was during the 2013 Nurses Ball. The story that brought her back to the canvas was less than stellar and some of her actions left a bad taste in the mouth for some viewers, so hopefully if there is indeed an upcoming return for the character it’s with a solid story that comes with explanations about her absence attached and some character growth. Despite all that, anytime Marcil graces the screen it’s definitely a welcome sight.

Outside of a possible return to “GH,” Marcil more recently appeared in an episode of CBS’ “Hawaii Five-0” and is set to star alongside several of daytime’s biggest stars in the Pop original reality series, “Queens of Drama,” which premieres following the “42nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards” on Sunday, April 26 at 10:00 PM, ET/PT. The series moves to its regularly scheduled time slot on Wednesday, April 29 at 8:00 PM, ET/PT.

A rep for “GH” was unavailable for comment at press time.
