Just before the holiday break, actor Robb Derringer announced on social media that he will soon be departing ABC’s “General Hospital,” where he’s been portraying the recurring role of Special Agent Kyle Sloane opposite Finola Hughes (Anna Devane) since mid-November.

“Friends I got sad/disheartening news today that my story/character on GH is ending. I shot my last episode yesterday. Thank you all so much,” tweeted Derringer on Friday, December 19.

In a separate tweet, Derringer stated, “Just want 2 thank every one of yu for all the love support & kind words about Me/Sloane. Was really disheartening but your kindness helps xo.”

Both tweets appear to have since been deleted from the actor’s timeline.

Before joining “GH,” Derringer starred in TheWB.com’s short-lived series, “The Lake,” and appeared in episodes of “All My Children,” “The Young and the Restless,” “CSI: NY” and “NCIS.”

Look for the actor to next appear in an upcoming episode of CBS’ remake of “The Odd Couple,” starring Matthew Perry and Thomas Lennon as Oscar and Felix, respectively.

Derringer is expected to last air on “GH” in late January.
