“I am very thrilled that the Jonas family lives: The black sheep of Salem!” Christian says with a laugh about the onscreen father/daughter reunion, adding that it’s trouble — of course — that brings Melanie back to the canvas on Friday, November 21. “She comes to town guns a’ blazing. She’s trouble in both barrels.”

As for what fans can expect from the family pairing, Christian says more of the same — but better! “It’s such a pleasure when I work with her. It’s a very exuberant energy she brings. And even as a father, the character is a father figure, to try and corral that, you don’t want to harness it, and I find joy in the struggle in trying to harness a reckless child who is in fact from a reckless father,” he explains. “So what we’re doing, what we’ve tried to create, is not your quintessential father/daughter relationship. They’re both trying to figure stuff out. He’s not the greatest father, and she’s not the greatest daughter. But they want to be. So they struggle, and I joke with Molly, ‘I’ve got your back,’ and she’s got my back, both Molly and, of course, Melanie and Daniel.”
