Congratulations on taking home the biggest win of the night! How does it feel?
It feels fabulous. It feels wonderful, and it feels like a great affirmation. We’re very excited about what we have coming up and we’re very proud of what we did last year.
What do you think it was about last year that snagged you the Emmy?
Well I think we told some tough stories, and I think we made people feel. And I think that’s always what arrests an audience and makes them come to play.
[Headwriter] Shelly Altman said she actually cried when she was writing some of the Delia’s death story. Does the show ever affect you that way?
Sure, when it’s good. Absolutely.
Where do you keep Emmys?
I’m going to have to figure that out. But I think I should keep it on my desk; it belongs to the show.
