UPDATE 5:00 PM ET: A CBS spokesperson has confirmed to Soap Opera Network that will replace in the role of Kyle Abbott on CBS’ “.” No further information was provided.

PREVIOUS: According to , CBS’ “The Young and the Restless” has recast Kyle Abbott, son of Jack Abbott (), with daytime newcomer Hartley Sawyer. The actor replaces Blake Hood, who first aired in the role on April 27, 2012.

Sawyer was a series regular in the short-lived TBS sitcom “.” He has also appeared in episodes of “” and “Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23.” He most recently appeared on CBS’ “.”

Per Digest, Sawyer will begin taping during the week of March 18.

Reps for CBS, Sawyer and Hood were unavailable for comment at press time.
