IT HAPPENED TODAY…
At Forrester Creations, Brooke's meeting began. Taylor complained that she didn't think Thomas should be at the meeting. Eric wondered what was going on. Stephanie said she didn't have time for any of this and said she was leaving. Brooke told her to stay because she's the one she wanted to see most of all. She said she had something to tell everyone in the room. Just then, Pam interrupted the meeting to give Brooke something that had just arrived for her. Brooke thanked Eric for always being on her side but said he was wrong to always do so. "All of those things that I did, these foul things that I was accused of, I think they're partly true. And I only deceived you because I was deceiving myself. I'm sorry." Brooke told him. Brooke said she wanted to change her life and that she asked all of them here so that she could explain to them how. Eric turned to Thomas and demanded he fess up to whatever he knew. Ridge told his father to back off. Eric refused and continued to defend Brooke and demand answers. Brooke told Eric to stop. "I did what they said I would do. Please, don't defend me, I can't take it anymore." she pleaded. "What who said you would do?" Eric replied. "I think she means me." said Taylor. "And what is it that she's done that you said she would do?" said Eric. "Your Grandson." replied Taylor. Eric was stunned and walked over to Brooke. Brooke told him she was hallucinogenic and not herself when it happened. She told him that she has no recollection of it even happening. Eric wondered how she knew then. Brooke told him that Thomas remembered it happening. "You were right all along Taylor, and you to Stephanie." said Brooke. She said she knew she was a sexual predator.
Brooke went on with the meeting and discussed the things she would be keeping. "I'm going to keep the house and the children's trust funds, there'll be a penalty but the 401k will pay for our living expenses. The rest I'm putting into a private foundation." she said. Ridge couldn't believe it. Taylor accused her of grandstanding. "I'm not grandstanding, it's a way to get my self-respect back. And there's no better way than helping others who are struggling with their lives. That's what I'm going to do, that gives me purpose." said Brooke. Ridge wondered what the private foundation was. Brooke said her lawyer made it very simple and asked her what she wanted to name the foundation. "I told him I wanted to name it after someone who most inspired me." she said. Brooke then held up a document, and at the top it said "STEPHANIE FORRESTER FOUNDATION". Brooke said she had never felt more useful than when she was helping Stephanie on the streets working at the shelter. Stephanie was resistant and didn't want to have any part of it. She suggested Brooke just write a check and be done with it. Thomas standed up for Brooke for wanting to do a good thing. He voiced how ashamed he was of his Grandmother and then left. Brooke asked for some alone time with Stephanie. Before everyone left, Eric noted to Stephanie that she wouldn't be alive if it wasn't for Brooke. Before Ridge left he told Brooke that she did nothing wrong.
Once alone, Brooke apologized for all the pain she caused. Stephanie said that people don't change and that they both have to live with the consequences. Brooke asked Stephanie if she'd accept the position as president of the new foundation. Stephanie refused and said she doesn't want her name attached to it. Brooke begged Stephanie to have it in her heart to let her use her name for this foundation. "Please Stephanie, just give me this one last thing."
In another room, Eric asked Ridge and Taylor if what really happened was true. They told him it was. Eric said it was hurtful to be the last to know. "Well, it appears that you and I have something in common that I never would have wished on you." Eric told Ridge.
Over at Jackie M, Nick informed Jackie, Owen, and Whip that Brooke and Ridge had broken up. Whip said deep down he was hoping that he and Taylor would get back together but now realizes that's no longer possible. Jackie wondered why Stephanie chose to confide that news to Nick specifically. "If you know enough to ask the question, then you already know the answer, Mother." Nick replied. Whip was clueless and wondered what they were talking about. Owen simply said Brooke's name. Jackie told Nick that she always knew he wasn't completely over Brooke. "The harder we tried to make things work, the more they didn't so we stopped trying. Things seem to work out fine now." he said. "Have no expectations and let life take it's course."
