good for Days but with the Sami’s arrest it could have been higher imo, maybe it is because it is middle of summer..i know i did not watch i was on vacay..

  • Bex

    Congrats to Y&R and BB.

  • PatF

Great to see both YR and BB up around a half million viewers over a year ago!

  • Noah Snyder

Wow, and the four soaps combined are up more than 1.1 million in comparison to the same week last year!!

And CBS can only be envious of GH’s 1.0 rating in women 18-49, because the cheap talk show they put on after killing As The World Turns is getting nowhere close to that.
The same is true for the AMC and OLTL replacement shows on ABC.

When are these networks going to correct their historic mistakes to kill our most favorite soaps? They have to make some smart investments if they ever want to get the ratings back our soaps were delivering even shortly before getting cancelled (for all the wrong reasons)!

Good week for Days? How about Fantastic week for Y and R? They had 50,000 more increase than Days. Look at their growth since last year. Y and R and very good these days. It is finding its groove I think. What I don’t understand is how they can get a 3.4 rating with 4,800,000 and some viewers and a 3.5 with less than that. It doesn’t make sense to me.

    • Philip

They singled out Days because it was the only one up in all 3 — Total Viewers, 18-49 and 18-34. Y&R dropped in both of the key demos. Days was the only show to pick up viewers in the 18-49 demo.

    • lulu

The Phylis exit helped a lot (like her or not she is one of the most important leading lady this show ever had therefore her being out and how the character leave is a BIG deal) but yep Days got up in the demos so it matter.

    • Fox

richalan67- While both shows went up, it was a much better week for DAYS, because their increase represents a 5.7% increase in viewers from the previous week while the increase at Y&R is somewhat less at 4.1%. It’s a simple matter of math, or percent of total viewers. And the reason why the movement in the Nielsen HH number doesn’t always correspond to what happens with total viewers is because the former number only refers to Households. It doesn’t reflect the number of viewers watching the show within in each household. Sometimes three people in a household might be watching, sometimes two, the next week only one, etc.) Currently, each HH rating point = 1,142,000 homes.

  • Joe Petitjean

Great week for GH sorry haters but GH is still solid as a rock

  • Joe Petitjean

Days will lose viewers with the ej/sammi show 31 days a month

    • lulu

seriously ? Again that..it is old old old and boring Joe Petitjean, good stories make ratings not a particular character or pairing. Moreover Ej and Sami are on-screen and together since a while and at the same OTHER characters, many others are also on-screen with front burner stories and their ratings all in all are not bad and even up from the last years. That is all.
If GH is so ‘solid as a rock’ Days is too, can’t have it both way, use your brain.

Days is really rockin’! Keep up the good work…DOOL is the best soap on tv!

  • Harlee

BB is congrats on being astonishing consistent in it’s raise in the ratings. BB is pure fun, fire, & frothy with goodness the last few weeks! HT is kicking it out of the ball park, Brad is more like his dad utilizing Heather’s massive talent….”Katie doing a “Victoria Newman” style story is brilliant! All of us fans of Bill’s YR are LOVING this BB story of Katie and not the cheap imitation of Josh & Jill went up the hill…to destroy Genoa City….Heather is going to rock this story of Katie turning into bitchastic “Victoria”! I’m in heaven. I’m absolutely loving BB and it’s the best soap on TV right now, followed by DOOL. Everything is clicking like well oiled machine of entertaining soap opera to watch as Bill would write. It has everything firing on all cylinders with hookey Caroline, jungle fever, addition of another son for $Bill playing an updated version of Fred” MacMurray in My 3 Sons…Darin is welcome addition to spice up HopeLiam, which Darin will be the son like Billy Spencer….Brooke & Bill sweating it up in torture attraction and Katie spying is delicious soapy fun to watch…smart to add Donna knowing. I’m loving BB for 5 reasons right being a Bell soap, Brad, Kay, Jack’s writing, Ed Scott producing….hmmm interesting Bill’s old guard producing the ratings monster the last 3 years….it figures correctly because it’s simply old fashion soap opera
