Way to go Days. Way to build your ratings all week long. Great Thursday and Friday ratings.

Sorry but GH in 4th is where it deserves for now. Hate they even had good days on Monday and Tuesday but comforted to see that so many fled from the show each day. Ron C. and Frank V. do not deserve any kind of good ratings for the mess they have turned this show into.

And people blaming Prospect Park for the clusterf**k this show has turned into. Well blame who you want, but first off ABC and Cartini knew the score upfront. Also no one forced Cartini to keep these 3 and to write what they wrote. This is their doing. They wanted these 3 so bad and created this mess to keep them. No one can be blamed for what is onscreen but Cartini. They need to take the blame. I loved the show from October to January. January to April were likable. Since the 50th the show has steadily gone from bad to God awful. It is a mess and there are even talks of adding more characters to the mess. Clean up what you have now, and use some of the people on the canvas before adding more.

Congrats to Y&R, B&B, and Days. Your ratings are deserved. Glad you had great weeks.

Agree, Philip! I love GH but since new Franco is revealed I’m sick of it! For sure, I’ll continue watching, but I’m afraid other viewers won’t. It would be a shame if GH gets cancelled just because of those three OLTL returns.

  • lulu

Y&R is the big winner with all these gains, what was so good this week in question ?! (did not watch it)
Days did great although i thought it would be higher but at least they really up on their demos.
GH after all the backlash right now doesn’t do so bad actually, 2.1 twice at the beginning of the week is nothing to be ashamed to say the least..
Anyway good for ALL soaps, it is better than last year let’s hope it stay like that in order to avoid threats of cancellation, they seem to be in good shape this year, keep it like that networks !

It’s bad when you drop all the way to a 1.7 and 2.2 million viewers by Friday. That’s not good at all. GH had gotten to where last fall it was consistently above that 2.2 million viewer range and didn’t hit even for dailies. Lately they have hit it quite often. That’s not good at all.

They lost almost 500,000 viewers from Monday to Friday. That’s a lot of people tuning out. And they have dropped to #4 in the 18-49 demo.

Thankyou for saying this cause I swear some of the reasoning ppl give about GH is ridic. They lost 500,000 by friday and they drop after tuseday like a rock. And to end up in 4th when you SUPPOSE to have the awesome Cartini you should be moving up not back. These numbers suck you want to keep steady numbers not do what GH does. And Monday was good cause those days are to be good and remember ppl this week was all about OLTL3 returns so to say they helped save GH ummm YEAH BY FRIDAY 1.7 -500,000 and now 4TH place. PS WHY DIDNT GH PUT OUT A PR LIKE NBC AND CBS did for about lsweeps weak.

    • Irish Girl

GH is #2 in the female 18-49 demo viewers, which is frankly the only thing the bean counters and networks care about. It also held steady on the rating demo and gained in total viewers and 18-34 viewers. It’s doing quite well.

    Good for all the shows.
Especially good for Y and R. It proves that when you have the legacy characters on the screen that people stay tuned in. Josh’s writing was been pretty solid.
    Jill, are you listening?

    • Lena

Except the only vet that was heavily on that week was Traci

      • PatF

Not really. Had Lauren, Michael, Billy, Victoria, Adam, Sharon, Phyllis, Nick…a lot.
What I mean is that we didn’t have too much Dylan and Tyler trying to drive story.
        Great month overall actually!
And that they were up 17% in that stupid 18-49 demo should be pleasing to someone.

Great news for the soap genre and daytime! Nice to see all soaps performing well and completely elated to see YR in “+” in all demos and total viewers categories, Sleeper by far was DOOL…this is HOW…during sweeps month and it’s paying big dividends. Days has been on fire this whole entire month, stories breaking wide open on many stories and aftermath will be brilliant. Days had the best May sweeps of any of the remaining 3. But YR is close 2nd for best! The only thing to hurt YR was in the beginning of May, slow start wlagging stories of Dylan from April…but kicked into gear the rest of May has been great drama atYR….YR has been smoking hot!

  • PatF

Great job for Days too! And it seems like good drama on there is driving the ratings too! None of those ridiculous plot driven stories you might see elsewhere.

Another great week for DAYS!!! They reached a 1.0 in 18-49 and beat GH in that demo as well as total viewers! Congrats to the great writers and actors at DAYS! They have defined the term “outstanding daytime drama” the last few months! Special kudos to Eileen Davidson (Kristen) who has added some much needed sex appeal and villainy to the show! Her scenes with Eric Martsolf (Brady) practically melt the screen and she has even breathed new life into the “tired” John (Drake Hogestyn) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) relationship! I can’t wait to see Kristen tear into the citizens of Salem when she is finally caught in her web of lies!!! I predict an Emmy nomination (and win) for Eileen Davidson in 2014!!! Keep up the awesome work, DAYS!!!

All soaps are up from last year!! They are so much better than those crappy and cheap talk and game shows!!
