(SoapOperaNetwork.com) – “All My Children” star lands a spot on “Dancing with the Stars” spin-off.

The cast of ABC’s “Skating with the Stars” was announced during the Tuesday (November 2) night results show of ABC’s hit competition series “Dancing with the Stars.” “All My Children” star Rebecca Budig will be one of the six stars skating with professional skaters in the debuting competition series.

The 37-year old actress began her daytime career on CBS’s “Guiding Light” in 1995 and then moved on to ABC’s “AMC” as Greenlee Smythe in August 1999. She’s continued in the role off-and-on since then. Budig has also guest-starred on CBS’s “CSI” and “How I Met Your Mother.”

Budig is the forth “AMC” star to join the “…with the Stars” family; Cameron Mathison, Susan Lucci and Aiden Turner were casted on “Dancing with the Stars.” Kelly Monaco of ABC’s “General Hospital” kicked off (and won) the debut season of “Dancing with the Stars.” Budig, who skated regularly as a child, is partnered with skater Fred Palascak for the series duration. When zap2it.com asked Budig about FOX’s failure at this experiment in 2006 with “Skating with Celebrities,” Budig confidently points out that these producers “learned from FOX’s mistakes,” after all they are the same people behind ABC’s power-house “Dancing with the Stars.” The actress also noted that she has turned down several requests to join this series’ popular parent series (“DWTS”) due to time constraints.

Joining Budig on the ice for the five-week long competition are current “The Young and the Restless” star and 1980s film star Sean Young; reality-star Bethenny Frankel who rose to fame on “The Real Housewives of New York” and “Bethenny Getting Married?”; Motley Crew founding member Vince Neil; gold-medal-winning Olympic skier Jonny Moseley and rapper, comedian, singer and co-star of Disney’s “Sonny With a Chance” Brandon Mychal Smith.

“Skating with the Stars” premieres on Monday, November 22, following “Dancing with the Stars.”

“All My Children” airs Weekdays on ABC. Anytime on ABC.com.
