(SoapOperaNetwork.com) –

Daniel Cosgrove returns to the soap opera he started his daytime career on.

Just one week following the revelation that Adam Mayfield is out as "All My Children's" Scott Chandler comes word from the newest issue of Soap Opera Digest that Daniel Cosgrove is back in as Stuart Chandler's (David Canary) adopted son.

Daniel Cosgrove, of course, played Scott Chandler on "AMC" from 1996 to 1998. Although the actor started his career on ABC Daytime as Scott, Cosgrove made a name for himself on CBS Daytime. Cosgrove earned two Daytime Emmy Nominations for his work on "Guiding Light" as Bill Lewis. He played the popular role from June 2002 to October 2005 and from October 2007 to the last "GL" episode on September 18, 2009. Cosgrove moved on to the role of Chris Hughes on CBS's "As the World Turns," a role he would play from March 2010 until the show's last episode on September 17. The 39-year old actor also enjoyed a two year stint on FOX's popular prime-time soap opera "Beverly Hills, 90210" in the late 1990s. In 2007, Cosgrove landed a recurring role on a promising ABC prime-time drama called "Dirty, Sexy, Money." Earlier this year, published reports had the actor thisclose to signing on to play a recast of Joey Buchanan on ABC's "One Life to Live."

Cosgrove will take over the role of Cindy Parker's (Ellen Wheeler) biological son from Mayfield (who has played the role for a year and a half) this December. As the path is paved to Cosgrove's return, look for Scott to find himself in crisis when both his professional life and personal life takes huge hits.

Soap Opera Digest also confirms Soap Opera Network's earlier report that both the roles of Scott Chandler and Marissa Tasker were in the process of being recast. Brittany Allen's replacement as Marissa was thisclose to being announced as the latest issue of the magazine went to press.

"All My Children" airs Weekdays on ABC. Anytime on ABC.com.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Now that his quarterly vacation is over, Anthony Geary is returning to "General Hospital" next month as his character, Luke Spencer, finally crosses paths with his son Lucky (Jonathan Jackson), but Lucky is pretending to be Ronan O'Reilly. And you thought Luke was the only one with multiple personalities.

When we last saw Luke it was on Wednesday, June 30, and he had stolen money from Tracy (Jane Elliot) in a quest to make his wife miss him, and his children said their good bye's. Now months later, the question is where has Luke been and where is Tracy's money? He did steal $10 million from her after all. All questions should be answered beginning Thursday, October 7, when Luke and his priestly self turns up in Ireland and comes face to face with Lucky, who is pretending to be Ronan. With the two reunited, expect all kinds of shenanigans to ensue in typical Luke style!

‘One Life’ Goes on Casting Spree

Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at 2:00 PM ET by Scotty Gore

      Photo: JPI

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Just when you thought the cast of “One Life to Live” couldn’t get any more bloated than it already was, the soap adds one new character and issues casting calls for two others.

In addition to the “One Life’s” quest to recast the the role of Viki and Clint’s youngest son Joey, which SON told you about last week, the show’s casting department has been busy working to fill a few other new upcoming roles as well.

For starters, are you like the one or two other “OLTL” fans that can’t get enough of the Ford brothers? Then you’re in luck. The Ford family unit is now complete in Llanview as Soap Opera Digest reports that the show has tapped John Wesley Shipp for the recurring role of the boys father (and Inez’s ex-husband) Eddie, who is described as being in his “40′s, early 50′s, underneath his hot, handsome, sexy, charming exterior lies an extremely violent and abusive nature.”

This will mark Shipp’s second stint in Llanview. In 1989, he played Blanchard Lovelace on the show. In addition, the actor has also appeared on “Guiding Light,” “As the World Turns,” “All My Children,” “Santa Barbara,” “Palmetto Pointe,” “Sisters,” and “Dawson’s Creek.”

Look for Shipp is first air as Eddie sometime in early November.

Also, “One Life to Live” has released a casting call for the conract role of “Aubrey,” who is said to be a “beautiful, sexy Caucasian woman in her mid 20s-30s, who’s proper breeding masks her free-spirited nature.”

Lastly, the show has also issued a casting call for the minor role of “Vimal.” As the scene opens, “Markus” is telling Vimal that he has another job for him, since he did such a terrific job with the clone, saying that he’s sure it will give them safe entry into the hospital. Vimal replies that he is proud of his work. Markus tells him that’s good, since his life depends on it. Despite Vimal’s questions and objections, Markus tells him that there are some DNA tests that are pending at Llanview Hospital, and that he going to go into the lab and ensure that the tests turn out the way he wants them to. To this, Vimal agrees that it is a challenge, but reminds Markus that tampering with DNA tests is illegal. Markus says that’s true, but only if you get caught, and that Vimal must be discreet. He goes on to remind Vimal that, if he does as he is told, he will have a bright future ahead of him…maybe even becoming head of the department. Persuading to do the job, Vimal says he will do it. As the scene ends, Markus informs him that there is one other little thing that he needs Vimal to do while he is in the lab.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Earlier this year, "General Hospital" Head Writer Bob Guza informed TV Guide's Michael Logan that while he wouldn't be specific in the matter of Michael Corinthos' (Chad Duell) possible rape by his prison cellmate Carter (Josh Wingate) in May, that didn't mean he wouldn't get to that point down the road.

"Our focus right now is on the horrific experience of an 18- or 19-year-old who is thrown into a terrible situation like this," said Guza. "I just didn't want to make the story more specific at this point. However, that's not to say that I won't be getting very specific in three or four or five months down the line."

That time is now as the show has cast actress Andrea Bogart in the role of a prostitute named Candy, who is hired by Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) to help Michael quell his fears about sexual relations with another person. Unfortunately for Michael, things don't go as planned. Look for Michael to get violent with Candy after she gets a little too pushy in her advances. The episode is set to air on Tuesday, October 5.

Bogart tweeted her joy of appearing on "GH" on Thursday, September 2, saying:

So pumped to be working on General Hospital tomorrow then off to LAX to grab my Niece, Carly whose coming to visit! Gonna be a great day!

In a bit of irony, Bogart's niece is named Carly, and Michael's mother is named Carly (Laura Wright). Funny how things work out.

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — By now you’ve probably heard that “Guiding Light” alum Kim Zimmer is returning to “One Life to Live” on Friday, October 1, to reprise the role Echo DiSavoy. But what will this mean for the residents of Llanview? Soap Opera Network has your exclusive sneak peek at what is bringing the minor 1980s character back to town.

It all begins when Echo turns up on Viki’s doorstep at Llanfair. It turns out that, since leaving town in 1983, she and Viki’s (Erika Slezak) current husband Charlie (Brian Kerwin) crossed paths on more than one occasion. As the two old flames catch up on recent events, Viki remains suspicious of Echo’s sudden reappearance in Llanview after nearly thirty years (which makes sense, since the last time she was in town she tried to frame Viki’s then husband Clint [Jerry verDorn] for murder).

        Photo: Bryan Bedder/Getty Images

But wait, there’s more…despite telling Charlie she has no ulterior motives for returning to town, Viki succeeds in getting her to admit otherwise. What’s worse, it seem’s Echo is now claiming to be a fashion photographer and makes interesting proposition to Viki, in hopes she will hire her at the The Banner. But will Viki be persuaded by what she has to say?

Afterward, Viki voices her concerns to Rex (John-Paul Lavoisier) and Natalie (Melissa Archer), while Echo goes to visit another one of her old friends — Dorian Lord (Robin Strasser).  Problem is, however, that Dorian doesn’t give her quite the reception she was hoping for when Viki’s name comes up during their conversation.  Furthermore, Echo is carrying around some major secrets concerning some of the residents of Llanview.

        And that’s only the beginning…
