“Brilliant Minds” has been canceled after just two seasons at NBC, mere weeks before the drama returns to the network’s primetime schedule with its six remaining episodes.
“Days of our Lives,” the iconic soap opera that set the standard for romance and adventure, celebrates 60 years on television today, November 8.
With Al Calderon cast as a series regular on “Brilliant Minds,” the actor is departing “Days of our Lives” as Javi Hernandez. The soap opera will recast the role.
“The future of ‘Days of our Lives’ has never been brighter,” says executive producer Ken Corday, following Peacock’s decision to renew the series for two additional seasons.
“Days of our Lives” has been renewed for two additional seasons at Peacock, the streaming service announced on Thursday. The deal will keep the soap on the air through Season 63 (2027-2028).
“Saturday Night Live” concluded Season 50 as the No. 1 entertainment series on broadcast TV among Adults 18-49, plus the most watched comedy overall for the sixth consecutive season.
Amid a competitive landscape, “Days of our Lives” stands out as one of Peacock’s most-watched original shows, even surpassing some high-profile rivals on other streamers.
After more than 40 years at “Days of our Lives” in various positions, co-executive producer Janet Drucker announces retirement plans with Noel Maxam succeeding her as Co-EP.
“Law & Order: Organized Crime” kicks off Season 5 with the release of two all-new episodes on Peacock on Thursday, April 17, with NBC set for a one-time airing of the premiere episode.
