The annual baseball preemptions that have greatly impacted “General Hospital” in recent years have now concluded with ESPN/ABC and MLB opting out early from their seven-year deal.
“General Hospital” will be preempted on Thursday, October 2, due to ABC’s continued coverage of the 2025 Wild Card Series, this time with Game 3 between the Tigers and Guardians.
“General Hospital” will be fully preempted on Tuesday, September 30 and Wednesday, October 1, due to ABC’s annual coverage of the Major League Baseball Wild Card Series.

“General Hospital” will not air on Friday, October 7 due to ESPN on ABC sports coverage of the Major League Baseball Wild Card game.
