While the role eventually went to Andrew Hawkes, “Days of our Lives” fan-favorite Colton Little (Andrew Donovan) recently revealed that he had auditioned for the role of WSB Director Ross Collum, which would have made the character’s recent action in Port Charles the more ironic, considering Little is romantically involved with Adrian Anchondo, who, until last week portrayed Marco Rios, whom Collum stabbed to death.

“I actually auditioned and was seen by the producers for the Cullum role,” shared Little to Michael Fairman on The Michael Fairman Channel. “I went to the producers for that, and got pretty far in the process, and they ended up going with Andrew Hawkes. They had gone in a different direction. I think they were trying to figure out what to do with that character in terms of age, type, how the storyline was going to go, etc.”

“They did a broad casting [process for Cullum] and then narrowed it down, but that was really cool,” continued Little. “I’ve been in for one other character since on the show. Knowing what Adrian’s experience was on the show and getting to know everybody, I’d love to get into that world.”

In December, Little and Anchondo confirmed their relationship with an Instagram post, sharing several photos from their adventure in Puerto Rico and Florida.

On the Wednesday, March 25 episode of the daytime drama series, Marco was killed off, a result of multiple stabs to the chest with a knife by Cullum on the Friday, March 20 episode.

In an Instagram story posted after the airing of Anchondo’s final episode on the soap opera, Little said, “Having a front row seat to @javichondo’s journey on ‘General Hospital’ taught me so much. I watched him take the high road over and over, I witnessed his work ethic and sacrifices, and I got to see how much love he shared with the cast & crew. Marco may be gone (for now), but I’m grateful I get to watch Adrian continue to shine outside of Port Charles. Onwards and upwards, baby.”
