Marking what appears to be the first time it has reached the milestone on the streaming service, during the week of June 2-6, 2025 ABC’s “General Hospital” ranked No. 1 on the Hulu Top 15 Series Today list for three out of five days, topping the likes of “Nine Perfect Strangers” (Hulu), “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” (Hulu), “The Handmaid’s Tale” (Hulu), “Adults” (FX), “Family Guy” (FOX) and “Bob’s Burgers” (FOX), among others.
Starting the month as the ninth most watched series on the service on Sunday, June 1, “General Hospital” ranked 12th on Monday, June 2. By Tuesday, June 3, the show suddenly surged to the number one spot, topping “ABC 20/20” (ABC), which ranked second, and “The Handmaid’s Tale,” which ranked third.
The trend continued on Wednesday, June 4, with the soap ranking No. 1.
On Thursday, June 5, it had fallen to second place as it was displaced by “Nine Perfect Strangers,” which ranked fifth the previous day. However, by Friday, June 6, “General Hospital” took back the top spot, again ranking No. 1, this time ahead of “Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service” (FOX) and “MasterChef” (FOX), each of which placed second and third, respectively.
“General Hospital” kept its position at the top on Saturday, June 7, topping “Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service” in second and “Family Guy” in third.
While the accomplishment can’t be ignored, it should be noted that widely watched primetime fare like “9-1-1,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Abbott Elementary,” “Will Trent” and “The Rookie” are currently on hiatus, having completed their most recent seasons. That said, only the rolling 10 episodes of “General Hospital” remain available on the service daily, while several of the previously mentioned series have either several hundred or several dozen episodes available as part of their TV library.

Launched September 14, 2023, the Hulu Top 15 Today list is a collection of trending movies and TV series on the service, which is built off a formula that takes several factors into account, including viewership and the launching of new content, a press release noted at the time.
Overall, its purpose is to help show what is trending on the service at a particular moment in time, with Hulu’s entire On Demand catalog eligible for inclusion, regardless of when the title premiered on the platform. The list is updated daily between 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. PT.
According to Hulu, the Top 15 equation is made up of total views at the episode level within a 24-hour period and considers the growing popularity of new shows/movies released during that time frame. Meanwhile, although multiple episodes of a series help a show get into the top rankings, only the highest episode will count towards the ultimate ranking position of the series. “That way, a series won’t be featured more than once in the Top 15,” the service points out.
Recently, the service started to distinguish the Top 15 Today list with shows and movies split into their own individual charts. The combined chart is still available for subscribers.
The Hulu Top 15 Today list is separate from the service’s performance reports for select titles, which are based on views (total stream time divided by runtime available).
