ABC’s broadcast of the primetime special “President Trump the First 100 Days: The Interview in the Oval Office” attracted 3.959 million viewers on Tuesday, April 29, with the program ranking as the most-watched of the night in overall viewers and the No. 1 non-sports program on broadcast and cable among the key sales demographics, according to Live+Same Day ratings data by Nielsen.
The hour-long interview, conducted by ABC News senior national correspondent Terry Moran, was President Donald J. Trump‘s first and only interview released in honor of his 100th day in office.
During the interview, the president was asked a wide range of questions, including whether the United States is more respected now than it was before he took office in January, the deportation of an alleged MS13 gang member, and former President Joe Biden’s mental acuity, among other topics.
In addition to winning its 8:00 p.m. time slot among Total Viewers, the special also took the hour with non-sports programming in Adults 25-54 (693,000) and Adults 18-49 (475,000) with the network outdelivering CBS (3.665 million, 433,000 and 264,000, respectively with an encore of “FBI”) and NBC (1.929 million, 513,000 and 324,000, respectively, with “St. Denis Medical”/“Night Court”).
Demographically, the special generated the network’s best performance in both Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 in 10 weeks, since February 18, 2025.
Following its broadcast on ABC, “President Trump the First 100 Days: The Interview in the Oval Office” is now available to stream on Hulu, Disney+ and ABC News Live, the 24/7 live streaming news service featuring live events, breaking news and analysis from around the world.
