“General Hospital” has cast actor and model Bryce Durfee in the recurring role of Vaughn, Josslyn’s (Eden McCoy) handler at the WSB.
According to Soap Opera Digest, which first reported the news via an interview with the actor, Durfee makes his debut on the Friday, March 7 episode of the daytime drama series.
“I was anxious in the sense that I didn’t know what to expect because I knew the soap world moves fast. But as far as the performance, I had just finished another project and was feeling loose and ready to go, so I was really excited for that,” said Durfee of his first day on the job.
“That first day was just a whirlwind! I kind of felt like I got thrown into a washing machine and I got spit out an hour later [laughs],” he continued. “That’s kind of how I remember that first day. I can’t wait to see how it turned out!”
It turns out that Durfee could have landed in Port Charles a lot sooner had the show cast him as Harrison Chase back in 2018 instead of Josh Swickhard, who happens to be a pal of Durfee’s from their modeling days.
“It was down to me, Josh and I think a third guy,” Durfee recalled. “And the best man got it! Josh is absolutely fantastic, and I was really excited to run into him on [the] set recently.”
Another “General Hospital” connection for Durfee comes from his time starring in the PassionFlix original series “Driven,” which also featured Charles Shaughnessy, who played Victor Cassadine on the soap opera from 2021-2023. Also starring in “Driven” was “Days of our Lives” alum Casey Diedrick (ex-Chad DiMera). The series ran for just three seasons and produced 16 episodes.
Before he makes a name for himself in Port Charles later this week, which marks Durfee’s first speaking role on a daytime drama series, the actor previously appeared in a 2012 episode of “The Bold and the Beautiful” as a male model.
Durfee’s other credits include roles on such shows as “Last Man Standing,” “Man with a Plan,” “9-1-1,” “Hacks,” “Baby Daddy” and “Aquarius,” among others.
