Having been off-screen since at least July 2023, “General Hospital” actor Réal Andrews recently took to Instagram to share an update on his status at the daytime drama series, informing fans that it’s up to them as to whether the show will bring him back as Marcus Taggert.

When viewers last saw Taggert, he was on a downward spiral after learning that the daughter he believed to be his was, in fact, someone else’s through a separate relationship Portia (Brook Kerr) had with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner). Despite Trina (Tabyana Ali) going through the most in the months since Taggert last appeared on-screen, including the presumed death of her first love, Spencer (Nicholas Chavez), one would think it was time for the character to make his return to the canvas, and possibly play out yet another twist of parental lineage.

In a video response to a fan question asking if he would be coming back to the series anytime soon, Andrews said on Instagram, “At this point, it’s really gonna up to you guys — and God, first and foremost. If God wants me back, I’ll be back, but also with your support. You guys have a very loud voice, especially in today’s day and age, so between God and you all making a bunch of noise. If it’s meant to be, I’ll be back, and if I’m back, I’ll bring it, you know? That’s what I do.”

Outside of Port Charles, Andrews has appeared in roughly 75 television shows and films, including “The Sentinel,” “Nash Bridges,” “Highlander,” “ Solder of Fortune, Inc.,” “Law & Order,” “Damages” and “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” among others.

As for his time on soaps,  the actor has had roles on such shows as “Santa Barbara,” “As The World Turns,” “All My Children,” “Days of our Lives” and “The Bay.” He also appeared as Marcus Taggert on the “General Hospital” spinoff series “Port Charles.”
