CBS Releases Super Bowl Promos for New and Returning Primetime Shows Ahead of Big Game, Including ‘Tracker’ and ‘Ghosts’

Ahead of the network’s broadcast of “Super Bowl LVIII” on Sunday, February 11, CBS has released an early look at its customized promos for some of its new and returning shows, including “Ghosts,” “Tracker,” “Fire Country and So Help Me Todd.” The spots were custom-made to air during the big game as the culmination of the network’s campaign for CBS Premiere Week, which kicks off with the debut of “Tracker” after the game.

“There’s a lot of really great creative running during the Super Bowl, so our job is to stand out in a way that’s uniquely CBS but authentically represents the shows,” said Mike Benson, president and chief marketing officer at CBS. “I think we’ve achieved that in partnering with the writers and stars on ‘Ghosts,’ ‘Fire Country’ and ‘So Help Me Todd’ to shoot these fun new scripted promos that are in the authentic voices of their shows and characters. And ‘Tracker’s super-sized [60 seconds] spot features Alicia Keys’ rousing song “Underdog,” to ensure we grab people’s attention about the show and its post-game debut.”

In the spot for “Ghosts,” the spirits have an amusing meta moment watching and reacting to the classic feature film “Ghost” alongside Sam and Jay (Rose McIver and Utkarsh Ambudkar) while also discussing why they believe Woodstone Mansion would be a lot more fun for them if Jay were a ghost too.

The “Fire Country” spot is set to run during half-time and is inspired by the motivational locker-room talks given by coaches to their players during a tough match-up. It features creator and star Max Thieriot taking the audience on an emotional ride as he depicts what goes through the minds of our heroes the moment they face the fire. The spot was directed by Cole Walliser, who has over 20 million fans across social media and is well known for directing the red carpet Glambot.

The aforementioned “Tracker” spot showcases lead Justin Hartley (“The Young and the Restless,” “Passions”) and features a remixed version of Alicia Keys’ song “Underdog,” composed by Scott Icenogle and Lior Rosner.

As for “So Help Me Todd,” series stars Marcia Gay Harden and Skylar Astin get a little carried away as they try to describe their show in 15 seconds!

“Ghosts” and “So Help Me Todd” air on Thursdays on CBS, with new episodes premiering Thursday, February 15. “Fire Country” premieres with all new episodes starting Friday, February 16. Following its showcase after the big game, “Tracker” moves to Sunday nights with all-new episodes starting Sunday, February 18.
