ABC and Dick Clark Productions will continue bringing live New Year’s Eve coverage from Time Square with “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” through at least January 1, 2029, the network and production company announced today. The new deal runs for five years, beginning with New Year’s Eve coverage on January 1, 2025. The previous deal was to expire following the January 1, 2024 broadcast.
Hosted by Ryan Seacrest live from Times Square, “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” is the preeminent destination for viewers to ring in the new year, ranking as the No. 1 New Year’s Eve programming special for over 30 years.
The show averaged 13.8 million Total Viewers last year over its multi-hour broadcast while drawing in 17.9 million Total Viewers and a 5.34 Adult 18-49 rating in the midnight quarter-hour as the world said Happy New Year from Time Square.
Celebrating the year’s very best in music and featuring a night of superstar performances, the annual special wraps up the holiday season and is far and away the nation’s most-watched New Year’s Eve celebration. The broadcast provides viewers with a look at New Year’s celebrations from around the globe.
This year’s iteration of “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2024” airs LIVE Sunday, December 31, at 8:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
