Great American Family is TV’s Fastest-Growing Network for Second Consecutive Quarter

"Fall Into Winter" is among eight original movie titles to help Great American Family become TV's fastest-growing network for the second consecutive quarter.

Following a rebrand last year, Great American Family closed the First Quarter of 2023 (January-March) as TV’s fastest-growing network for the second consecutive quarter among Households and Total Viewers across multiple dayparts, including Total Day and Primetime, per Nielsen Live+Same Day ratings data. Compared to the First Quarter of 2022, the network saw triple-digit growth in the key categories.

Featuring original Christmas movies, seasonal rom-coms and family-friendly series and specials, Great American Family registered its highest-rated weekend ever during the weekend of March 18 and March 19, 2023. Combined, the weekend now ranks as the network’s strongest in Households, Adults 25-54 and Total Viewers. In Women 25-54, the weekend was the second best.

  • March 18, 2023 ranks as the most-watched Saturday on record among Total Viewers for the network while tying it with November 26, 2022 (Thanksgiving weekend) for the highest-rated Saturday among Households.
  • March 19, 2023 was the highest-rated Sunday on record among Households and Adults 25-54. It was the most-watched Sunday among Total Viewers and the second-best Sunday in Women 25-54.

Great American Media, the parent company of Great American Family and sister network Great American Living, notes the channel’s success comes “amid overall declines among general entertainment networks which saw 1Q 2023 Total Day audiences down an average -18% year-over-year in both Households and Total Viewers, and 1Q 2023 Primetime viewership down an average -21% in Households and -20% in Total Viewers.”

In the First Quarter of 2023, Great American Family premiered eight original movies, including “Fall Into Winter” starring Lori Loughlin, which marked her return to romantic comedies, along with popular specials “Great American Rescue Bowl” hosted by Beth Stern and “To The Rescue Pup-A-Thon” with Tommy Habeeb.

The network is home to classic fan-favorite series, including “Columbo,” “Little House on the Prairie” and “Murder, She Wrote.” The network also airs reruns of “Full House.”
