THE SCOOP

As previously reported, daytime newcomer Tabyana Ali has been cast as Trina Robinson on “General Hospital.” She replaces Sydney Mikayla who made her final appearance on the Thursday, March 17 episode. In a recent post on Instagram, Ali shared an update on when fans will get their first glimpse of her in the role.

“Next Week: ABC General Hospital!” Ali captioned as she is seen holding one of two bouquets of flowers given to her by fans of the character and her talent agency. “They are beautiful and a great addition to my garden,” she said of the flowers.

Following news of her casting at “GH” earlier this month, Ali posted, “Some great MAGIC is coming,” seemingly referring to her taking on the role of Trina who is one half of the popular “Sprina” pairing which mashes the character names of Trina and Spencer Cassadine (played by Nicholas Alexander Chavez).

While no specific first airdate is mentioned by Ali, spoilers for the week of March 21-25 indicate that on Friday, March 25, Taggert (Réal Andrews) and Portia (Brooke Kerr) check in with Trina following recent matters.

In addition to “GH,” Ali’s other television credits include appearances in episodes of such shows as “New Girl,” “Shimmer and Shine,” the Netflix comedy “The Big Show Show” and more recently the Shudder original movie “Horror Noire,” among others.

In 2017, Ali co-starred in the Amazon Original series pilot for “A Kid Called Mayonnaise” from the creator of the 90s Nickelodeon series “The Adventures of Pete and Pete.” She played the role of Malone in “Mayonnaise.”
