BREAKDOWN

As we reported earlier this month, the Tuesday, February 22 episode of “General Hospital” is the episode you’ve been waiting for! Peter August (Wes Ramsey) is expected to finally meet his match or maker with the way things are going as shown in a promo for this week’s episodes and recent blurbs in both TV Guide Magazine and Soap Opera Digest. Ultimately, it looks like the people of Port Charles will be ridding themselves of the bad guy once and for all!

“Can anything or anyone stop Peter August (Wes Ramsey) from terrorizing distraught ex Maxie (Kirsten Storms), their baby Louise and all of Port Charles? Today, he may finally get his comeuppance,” read the write-up in the latest issue of TV Guide, on newsstands now, giving viewers a hard date on when to tune in for the ultimate payoff.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Digest, co-head writers Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor spoke with the magazine about what viewers can expect as the walls close in on Peter now that law enforcement and the people that love Maxie the most are all converging on their whereabouts in Switzerland.

“He is desperate to stay even half a step ahead of them,” says Van Etten of Peter’s thinking. As for Maxie’s thought process, O’Connor shares, “Maxie has convinced herself that she will find a way to let the people she cares about know where they are and how to rescue her.”

As viewers will recall, when Anna (Finola Hughes) and Chase (Josh Swickard) recovered Louise at the fire station back in Port Charles, Maxie had left behind a small trinket that could be used to clue others in on where Peter might be taking her, which is exactly what Anna needed to get the ball going in finding them. “Anna feels a certain level of responsibility for bringing Peter into everybody’s lives,” O’Connor noted to Digest of where Anna’s head is in all of this. “She is seeing firsthand the consequences of all the times she protected Peter. She is determined to find Peter, to bring him to justice and to right the wrongs that he has done.”

Working alongside Anna is Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Drew (Cameron Mathison), and unknowingly, Felicia (Kristina Wagner), Maxie’s mother. “Felicia has been out of that game for a while,” says O’Connor of the character’s previous private investigator experience, adding, “but that’s not going to stop her from making sure she has an active role in bringing her daughter home.”

While the good guys are working to take down the bad guy, there’s another bad guy who might get to take care of Peter himself. Enter Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy). “He has a mysterious connection to Peter, and Victor has seen Peter slip away from the authorities more than once,” shares Van Etten of Victor’s motivations. “Victor is out to protect his own skin, and that might mean getting to Peter before anybody else does. So, the heroes find themselves with stiff competition for the award of capturing or taking down Peter.”

Speaking of capturing or taking down Peter, Van Etten is certain this is the time to watch “General Hospital.” He explains, “Since Peter landed in Port Charles four years ago, he has left a trail of disruption and broken bodies, beginning with his own father and his own brother – and if you have been waiting to see Peter finally face justice for what he’s done, this is the week you can’t miss.”
