It’s been a long time coming but it looks like the upcoming nuptials between Jason Morgan and Carly Corinthos (Steve Burton and Laura Wright) on “General Hospital” won’t come without some consequences, and we’re not talking about the expected retaliation by the Five Families.

In a tweet earlier today, Maurice Benard teased his imminent return to playing Sonny Corinthos, saying, “Sonny soon! And he won’t be sitting down.” The tweet included a picture of Benard sitting on Sonny’s couch from before the character lost his memory.

As viewers know, after an altercation with Julian Jerome (William deVry) last December, Sonny was presumed dead even though his body was never recovered. Soon afterward, the audience saw Sonny alive only to then learn he had no memory of his past. He adopted the persona of “Mike,” a reference to Sonny’s late father (played by Max Gail). Ever since then “Mike” has resided in Nixon Falls and has made lasting friendships with Phyllis (Joyce Guy) and her late husband Lenny (Rif Hutton). He’s also developed a romance with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) who up until today’s episode of “GH” kept the truth about “Mike” from everyone in Port Charles. That was until Jax (Ingo Rademacher) came snooping around and discovered her secret.

“I just want to say @watroswatros and Ingo we’re great today and @GeneralHospital I held my breath for a second you guys got a check out what’s coming,” wrote Benard in a later tweet that included the “clapping hands” and the “boxing glove” emojis.

Will Jax reveal the truth to “Mike” before Jason and Carly get married? You’ll just have to tune in to find out!
