Since Peacock’s launch in mid-2020, full episodes of “Days of our Lives” have been available to watch on the streaming service for free along with the NBC App and NBC.com. However, beginning Tuesday, July 6, Peacock will be the exclusive streaming home for the daytime drama series.
According to the show’s Twitter page, new episodes will release on Peacock the same day they air on NBC but not until 8:00 p.m. ET. Full episodes currently available on NBC.com and the NBC app are set to expire with the move to Peacock. Links to watch full episodes will re-direct visitors to the “DAYS” page on PeacockTV.com beginning July 6.
In an interview with “DAYS” executive producer Ken Corday in May, we learned that Peacock played a factor in the show’s two-year renewal. “Network television reaches a certain audience but not necessarily the same audience that streaming platforms reach, and I think Peacock is doing quite well. It’s flourishing at a time when network television may not be flourishing,” Corday told us. He further noted, “The show is doing very well on Peacock and I see the future of ‘Days of our Lives’ in the decades that will come, from now into the 20s, will be more of a streaming appointment than a network appointment. However, it’s important that people watch network television. It’s less expensive to subscribe to and advertisers need network viewers.”
