Asante Jones to Play Marcus Taggert on ‘General Hospital’, Temporarily Replaces Réal Andrews in the Role

Get ready to see a new face for Marcus Taggert, albeit temporarily, starting in mid-December on “General Hospital.”

According to Soap Opera Digest, sources have confirmed to the publication that the role originally played by Réal Andrews will be temporarily recast with “Scandal” and “Rosewood” actor Asante Jones. There’s been no word yet on what prompted the show to change actors but it’s understood that Andrews will resume playing the character he originated in 1996 at some point in the future.

The news of Jones taking over the role was first reported by Soap Opera News.
