On Friday, April 17, CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” returns to 2014 when it airs a flashback episode featuring the triangle of Bill Spencer (Don Diamont), Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) and Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) as they traveled to the beautiful locations of Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and culminated with a tragic fall into the Persian Gulf.
“I’ve been fascinated with Dubai and Abu Dhabi for quite some time because of their spectacular skylines rising up out of the desert on the Persian Gulf and the fantastic convergence of diverse international cultures,” said executive producer and head writer, Bradley P. Bell, at the time when deciding to film in the United Arab Emirates. “In our story, business mogul Dollar Bill Spencer (Don Diamont) whisks his fiancée, Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang), off to the Emirates to marry her at this new crossroads of the world. Possessive ex-husband Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) follows them to impose his will on this romantic, stunt-filled action-packed adventure,” Bell said, adding, that he was looking forward to sharing the upcoming international adventure with fans.
The episode, which originally aired on Monday, June 2, 2014 (episode #6837), finds Ridge showing Brooke the “selfie” of Bill and Quinn (Rena Sofer). Meanwhile, Katie (Heather Tom) tells Quinn that she and Bill deserve each other. Bill admits to having a fling with Quinn before he and Brooke were back together. Wyatt (Darin Brooks) and Hope (then played by Kim Matula) decide not to let family drama interfere with their relationship.
In order to get away with Brooke a furious Ridge punches Bill. Wyatt reminds Quinn that her actions are hurting people. After punching Bill, Ridge flees with Brooke into a waiting helicopter, not realizing it is being piloted by Justin (Aaron D. Spears), Bill’s right hand man. As Brooke watches in horror, Justin tips the helicopter and Ridge falls into the Gulf far below.
