THE NUMBERS

Led by the revelation that Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) adopted baby, Phoebe, is actually Hope’s (Annika Noelle) biological child, Beth, who she was told had died while giving birth, CBS’ “The Bold and the Beautiful” outpaced its year-ago performance in total viewers and attracted its largest overall audience in five months, according to newly released Nielsen Media Research ratings data.

During the week of August 26-30, 2019, “B&B” attracted 3.39 million viewers, an increase of 54,000 viewers from last week and 130,000 from the year-ago. The last time the show attracted this many viewers was the week of April 15-19, 2019.

In recent weeks, “B&B” has been duking it out with network rival and sister soap “The Young and the Restless” for dominance in the key Women 18-49 and Women 25-54 sales demos, the primary advertising categories sought by Madison Avenue. The battle began in August when “B&B” snapped “Y&R’s” long stronghold on both categories and marked the first time the soap has been #1 in either category in its more than 32+ years on the air.

Check back soon for the full daytime ratings report to see how “B&B” and the rest of the daytime soaps did for the week of August 26 when Soap Opera Network publishes the stats in the days ahead.
