Daytime Talk Ratings: ‘The Talk’ and ‘The View’

For the week of May 28-June 1, 2018, ABC’s “The View” averaged 2.757 million in Total Viewers, 454,000 in Women 25-54 and 322,000 in Women 18-49. CBS’ “The Talk,” meanwhile, averaged 2.418 million Total Viewers, 374,000 in Women 25-54 and 263,000 in Women 18-49 for the same week.

“The View” hit its best numbers since February in 25-54 and largest audience in Women 18-49 since March – since weeks of 2/19/18 and 3/19/18, respectively. The talk show improved week-to-week in each respective category: +7% or 2.596 million in Total Viewers, +10% or 414,000 in Women 25-54 and +13% or 285,000 in Women 18-49. The show hit a six-week high across the board – since w/o 4/16/18, and marked its eighth straight week of growth compared to the same period a year ago (+6% – 2.767 million vs. 2.600 million for w/o 5/29/17).

Season to date, “The View” is up 1% compared to the same point last season in Total Viewers (2.899 million vs. 2.857 million), marking the show’s most-watched season in 4 years – since the 2013-14 television season.

“The Talk” and “The View” were both coded as specials on Monday, May 28 due to the Memorial Day holiday, with the telecasts excluded from the weekly averages.
