After “General Hospital” executive producer Frank Valentini teased a fun casting announcement on his Twitter page yesterday, fans couldn’t help but wonder who was heading to Port Charles, or in this case, returning. Today, the soap announced that Ashley Jones will reprise her role as Parker Forsyth, Kristina’s (Lexi Ainsworth) former professor and lover.
“Oh hey, @AshleyAJones. Funny seeing you here. @_lexiainsworth [Kristina] #GH #ParkersBack,” read a message on the soap’s Twitter page along with a picture of Jones sitting down and all smiles alongside Ainsworth on the “GH” set. The same image was posted on the soap’s Instagram page, accompanied by different text: “No need to adjust your Instagram feed! @ashleyaubra is back at #GH and we’re thinking Kristina will have something to say about it. @_lexiainsworth #GeneralHospital #ParkersBack #BehindtheScenes.”
Jones last appeared on the soap in August 2016 after Parker broke things off with Kristina.
In confirming Jones’ return to Soap Opera Network, an ABC rep revealed that the actress will begin appearing during the week of August 14.
