Last week, Soap Opera Network featured an exciting interview with “The Young and the Restless’” Cady McClain (Kelly Andrews), but the actress had MUCH more to say regarding her new CBS soap role — as well as a slew of other topics, including the tragic second ending of “All My Children,” where she played Dixie Cooney for over 25 years. Read on to get additional scoop on a variety of subjects from “Y&R’s” newest star!
ON A POSSIBLE KELLY/JACK ROMANCE
“The people that you’re really attracted to always kind of make you the most angry. Like, the people you love the most, they drive you the craziest. So I think there’s a lot of potential there. We’ll see what happens!”
ON WORKING AT “Y&R”
“The environment is different in that it’s old school. It’s like the old days of ‘All My Children.’ And I wouldn’t just say that. It is truly a blessing. There’s no ugliness, there’s no meanness, there’s no, ‘Oh God, gotta avoid that person: Duck and run!’ There’s some stress about wanting to get the show done fast… and I feel stress, because I’m the new girl, and I feel like I’ve got to prove myself and all of that. But I think actors feel that way all of the time. Like, maybe yesterday’s performance was good, but today’s performance is with new lines, new people. So I do feel like I have my work cut out for me, but… I feel good about it.”
