The alphabet network is very proud of its sole remaining daytime drama series, “General Hospital,” which has increased its total audience and is surging in the key sales demos. The network is also proud of daytime talkers “The View” and “The Chew,” which are both achieving increased audiences in demos. “Chew” is reaching a new zenith in total audience as the talk show attracted its largest total viewer count and women 25-54 demo count in its history during the week of October 28, 2013 through November 1, 2013.

“General Hospital” grew its Total Viewer audience for the fourth consecutive week, rising to an over 10 month high (2.91 million – since 1/21/13), set an over 2 year high in Women 18-49 (748,000/1.2 rating) and over 2 and a half year high in Women 25-54 (989,000/1.6 rating) – since weeks of 8/15/11 and 3/28/11, respectively – placing a competitive #2 in the demos, and was the #1 program for the 11th week in a row in Women 18-34 (259,000/0.8 rating).

• Monday’s telecast – which included story lines revolving around Robin learning of Patrick’s engagement and Maxie’s frantic preparation for her baby’s return – stood as the series’ most-watched telecast in over 3 and a half years in Total Viewers (3.16 million – since 2/1/10), its second-most-watched telecast in over two years in Women 18-49 (857,000/1.3 rating) and two and a half years in Women 25-54 (1.13 million/1.9 rating) – since 8/15/11 and 3/25/11, accordingly.

For the week of October 28, 2013, ABC rose to near 2 year highs in Women 18-49 (647,000/1.0 rating) and Women 25-54 (835,000/1.4 rating), and set 10 month highs in Total Viewers (2.91 million) and Women 18-34 (218,000/0.6 rating) – since weeks of 1/9/12, 1/28/13 and 1/14/13, respectively – ranking as the #1 network in daytime across the target Women demos (tied in W18-34).

“The View”: (11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.)

At 11:00 o’clock, “The View” surged to 9 month highs in Women 18-34 (192,000/0.6 rating) and Women 25-54 (752,000/1.2 rating) and an 8 month high in Women 18-49 (602,000/0.9 rating) – since weeks of 2/25/13 and 1/28/13, respectively – placing among the week’s Top 5 programs in daytime across the core Women categories.

• Notably, Thursday’s telecast – featuring guest star Mario Cantone and showcasing its ‘Hot Topic Halloween’ – hit an over 8 month high in Women 18-49 (704,000/1.1 rating), and over 6 month high in Women 25-54 (836,000/1.4 rating) – since 1/28/13 and 4/22/13, respectively.

• “The View” posted across the board week to week gains, including by 13% in Women 18-49 (602,000 vs. 534,000) and by 7% in Women 25-54 (752,000 vs. 701,000).

“The Chew”: (1:00 – 2:00 p.m.)

Riding record ratings into the holiday season, “The Chew” delivered its #1 week of all time in Total Viewers (2.82 million) and Women 25-54 (745,000/1.2 rating) and delivered its #2 week ever in Women 18-34 (199,000/0.6 rating) and Women 18-49 (576,000/0.9 rating), behind only the week of 9/30/13.

In fact, the past seven weeks have ranked among the series’ Top 10 weeks of all time in Total Viewers, with the previous eight weeks placing among its Top 11 weeks on record in Women 18-49.

• Impressively, Thursday’s ‘The Chew’s Halloween Spooktacular’ show, featuring seriously scary recipes, became the series’ #1 telecast of all time in Total Viewers (3.02 million), while Tuesday’s show, featuring ‘Crowd Pleasin’ Potluck’ recipes, became its #1 telecast ever in Women 25-54 (794,000/1.3 rating).

• Week to week, “The Chew” generated solid increases across target demos, including by 7% in Total Viewers (2.82 million vs. 2.63 million), by 13% in Women 18-49 (576,000 vs. 511,000) and by 17% in Women 25-54 (745,000 vs. 637,000).
