New ‘20/20’ Inspired By ‘Devious Maids’?

Soap fans can hardly keep a lid on the excitement that’s been building for the premiere of Lifetime’s soapy series, “Devious Maids,” a dramady starring Ana OrtizDania RamírezRoselyn SánchezEdy Ganem and Judy Reyes as five maids who have dreams and ambitions of their own, even though they work for wealthy bosses like Genevieve Delacourt (Susan Lucci, ex-Erica Kane, “All My Children”). And perhaps the excitement inspired the producers over at ABC’s “20/20,” as the news magazine program is premiering a special episode detailing the lives of some real-life help of super rich families!

“Ever wonder how the other half lives? From butlers and maids to nannies and personal assistants, ‘20/20’ takes viewers inside the luxurious world of the über-rich,” states a press release for the show. “With the help of a Beverly Hills agency that specializes in placing highly trained assistants and domestic help in the homes of the richest families on the planet, Nick Watt reports on the high maintenance demands from some wealthy clients. And the assistants reveal the unique challenges about their relationships with their wealthy employers and the hurdles they face. Amy Robach goes inside this highly coveted world of working for the famous to hear some of the outrageous demands and long hours that some endure. And David Muir travels to the International Butler Academy in the Netherlands where he undergoes tough training — from dressing and serving to carrying champagne glasses with a book on his head. Does he have the right stuff to be a top butler? “
