‘Precious’ Barret Helms First ‘One Life’ Airdate Set

(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — As we previously reported, Barret Helms, who played Precious’ dream boyfriend in the Oscar-nominated movie “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire,” has joined the cast of “One Life to Live” in the contract role of Baz. Now, in an update to our initial report, we can tell you that Helms is expected to make his “One Life” debut on Monday, June 20. Look for his character to have “a unique connection to one of Llanview’s more recently-arrived residents.”

While it is rumored that Baz will be related to James Ford’s (Nic Robuck‘s) ex-girlfriend Deanna Forbes (Nafessa Williams), SON can confirm that he will be related to another “One Life” newcomer. Helms tweets that “Tony Award winner LaChanze is playing my mom! Pedigree.” LaChanze, as we reported earlier today, has been cast by “OLTL” in the recurring role of Yvette, who is said to “have a surprising connection to someone in Llanview.”

Judging by Helm’s Twitter page it appears that he has taped scenes on several dates so far, including May 2 and 11. Again, look for him first air on Monday, June 20.

In casting breakdowns, the character of Baz was previously listed named “Robbie,” who was described “a sexy and confident college student who interns at a well-known newspaper.”
