(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Will Tad Martin’s (Michael E. Knight) bad-boy son stand a chance with Adam Chandler’s (David Canary) princess after this hunk steps foot in Pine Valley?

Trent Garrett has been selected to play the contract role of Asher Pike on ABC’s “All My Children.” Look for the mysterious Asher to come into the scene on the heels of Colby Chandler (Natalie Hall) learning some rather interesting information about her current bad-boy boyfriend, Damon (Finn Wittrock).

Until now, Garret has had much of his success in the world of modeling, appearing in ads for clothing giants such as “Abercrombie & Fitch.” In 2009, the young model turned actor landed a small role on a 2009 episode of the CW’s “90210.” Garrett also has a role in the upcoming romantic comedy “Slightly Single in L.A,” which stars “AMC” alumni Lacey Chabert (ex-Bianca) and Jonathan Bennett (ex-JR).

Garrett, and his originally named character Asher, debuts on “AMC” on Friday, August 13.

“All My Children” airs Weekdays on ABC. Check local listings. “AMC” also airs 24/7 online at ABC.com.

More Stars Being Courted as the Relaunch of ‘All My Children’ Remains in Question

Moments before the announcement that production company Prospect Part had licensed "All My Children" and "One Life to Live" from ABC and saved it from imminent cancellation, it was announced that Debbi Morgan (Angie) had already signed on to "The Young and the Restless." She will debut on the popular CBS soap this fall. Not too long after that, Jacob Young (JR) announced that he was unable to ignore the call back to "The Bold and the Beautiful." He returns as Rick Forrester on Monday, September 26. At this moment, Prospect Park is still trying to work out a deal with the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (AFTRA) that will allow them to begin negotiating with actors for a hopeful January 2012 relaunch of both ABC soaps. This leaves the actors of "AMC" with free time and a contract with ABC that dissolved earlier this week. In the September 13, 2011 issues of Soap Opera Digest and Soap Opera Weekly, it is revealed that Alicia Minshew and Chrishell Stause have also both been contacted to join another soap.

DAYTIME EMMYS: ‘GH’s’ Bradford Anderson Talks Nomination and Where Spinelli Is Now

When Bradford Anderson woke up this morning he didn't immediately know that he had received his fifth Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Damian Spinelli on ABC's "General Hospital." How is that even possible, you ask? "I sleep with my phone off," the actor admits. "That's the fun thing about being on the west coast. You generally wake up to the news." He adds, "Just turning on my phone and seeing how many emails and texts I get is generally an indication of a 'yay' or a 'nay.'"
