(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Erica Kane’s next love interest is cast on “All My Children.”

Michael Nouri is joining the cast of “All My Children” this May as Erica Kane’s newest romantic interest, Caleb McGraw. The soap has been trying to find the perfect actor for the contract role for since this past winter. Susan Lucci, who plays the legendary diva, is reportedly “over the moon” with the casting decision.

Th 64-year old actor is probably best known for the role of Nick Hurley in the 1983 film “Flashdance.” The movie which spawned an extremely popular soundtrack (that included the tracks “What a Feeling” and “Maniac”) starred Nouri and Jennifer Beals. The actor has kept busy through the years with numerous guest and recurring roles in a number of television series – ABC’s “Brothers & Sisters,” CBS’s “Cold Case” and “CSI: NY,” FOX’s “The O.C.” and FX’s “Damages” to name a few – television movies and has also starred on Broadway. In recent times, Nouri could be spotted in the Sandra Bullock hit-film “The Proposal” and in the recurring role of Eli David, the father of series regular Ziva David played by Cote de Pablo, on CBS’s “NCIS.” This is not Nouri’s first venture into daytime, he starred on “Search for Tomorrow,” “Somerset,” and in 2004 landed on CBS’s “The Young and the Restless.”

Despite a romantic future that appears to be written in the stars, don’t expect Caleb to hit it off with Pine Valley’s favorite diva. Understandably, the rugged mountaineer will not be happy to meet Ms. Kane after she quite literally crashes into the life. Nouri first airs in the role of Caleb on Monday, May 24.

“All My Children” airs Weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet. Check local listings. “AMC” now also airs online at ABC.com and can be accessed 24/7.
