(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Was it just a nod to history or a hint of things to come?

Monday’s (February 15th) episode of “One Life to Live” opened with Llanview’s songstress Blair Cramer (Kassie DePaiva) singing what many fans consider the most popular of the soap’s seven different opening sequences from its more than four decade history.

The song, originally performed by Paebo Bryson, was used as as part of “One Life’s” ‘Tour of Llanview’ opening and closing themes from 1986-92, following an appearance by the musician on the show (in which he performed the theme during a fashion show).

But was it just an attempt by the writing staff to give long-time viewers a moment to re-visit the past, or was it a subtle clue that an overhaul of “One Life to Live’s” present opening sequence may be in the works? That remains to be seen, however fellow ABC sudser “General Hospital” is set to debut a new opening on February 23rd, and there have been grumblings for some time that “All My Children” may receive an updated opening sometime in the near future as well. Either way, it offered a nice trip down memory lane.

“Here’s what you do when you don’t find the rainbow’s end, This time… Here’s where you go when it looks like the rain won’t end, Don’t cry… I’ll give you tomorrow, Let me be the one you share it with, And each day that follows, ‘Cause we only have ‘ONE LIFE TO LIVE!'”
