(SoapOperaNetwork.com) — Veteran financial news correspondent Ted David to make a special appearance on “One Life to Live” next month as Llanview’s mayoral election kicks into high gear.

For nearly 20 years, David could be found behind the CNBC anchor desk between 1989 and 2008. During his stint at The Consumer News and Business Channel, he could also be heard on CNBC radio and seen providing stock market updates on MSNBC and as a weekend anchor on WNBC-TV in New York City. Prior to joining CNBC, David was an anchor for ABC News Radio and most recently he was an anchor for “Business Week.” He currently does freelance work, most notably for Cablevision’s News12 Long Island and news radio station 1010 WINS.

Ted David will make his “One Life to Live” debut in the coming weeks when he appears in Llanview as the moderator of a political debate between incumbent Mayor Stan Lowell and challenger (and past Mayor) Viki Banks.

According to David Hinckley of the New York Daily News, the political commentator was asked to appear on the soap “after ‘OLTL’ executive producer Frank Valentini said he liked David’s work on CNBC.”

David’s first airdate will be Tuesday, September 8th, and there are hints that he may show up again sometime before the November election.

“One Life to Live” airs Weekdays on ABC. Weeknights on SOAPnet. Check local listings.
