On today's episode of NBC's "Days of our Lives," Chandler Massey says goodbye to his multi-Daytime Emmy Award winning role of Will Horton. As previously reported, Massey planned to depart the daytime drama series when his contract was set to expire in December 2013, but show producers opted instead to replace the actor upon his completion of his filming of scenes in August of last year, citing the exit as being storyline dictated. Daytime newcomer Guy Wilson took over the role when he began filming scenes in September. He begins airing on Wednesday, January 8.

As a result of the Friday, December 20 preemption, ABC's "General Hospital's" is currently behind in its airing schedule. What that means is that the previously scheduled "Home for the Holidays" themed episode set to air today, will instead air on Friday, December 27. Also shifted is the debut of "GH" newcomer Ryan Paevey in the contract role of Nathan West. The character, who was originally set to debut on tomorrow's episode, will instead debut on the Monday, December 30 episode in scenes alongside Kirsten Storms' Maxie Jones, who seeks to get out of town just as Port Charles gets ready to celebrate the New Year as a result of the recent baby drama and the need to clear her head. In real-life, Storms is headed for maternity leave as she's due to give birth in January to a little girl by husband and former "GH" co-star, Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny Zacchara).

According to Soap Opera Digest, Daniel Cosgrove has joined the cast of NBC's "Days of our Lives" in the newly created role of Aiden. "This is the first time that I’ve ever played a daytime character that wasn’t played by someone else," said the actor to the magazine of his previous roles as Scott Chandler ("All My Children"), Chris Hughes ("As The World Turns") and Bill Lewis ("Guiding Light"), all played by several actors prior to his portrayal.

With "The Young and the Restless" losing its leading men in a one-two punch, as both Billy Miller (Billy Abbott) and Michael Muhney (Adam Newman) filmed their last scenes on Thursday, December 19, cast and crew of daytime's most watched drama series have put together video tributes to honor the departing stars.

On Thursday, December 19, "The Young and the Restless'" Billy Miller said goodbye to his character Billy Abbott for the last time as the actor filmed his final scenes on the daytime drama series, which is set to air on Thursday, January 30, 2014 - the first day of the all important February sweeps ratings period. In a newly released interview with Soap Opera Digest, Miller reveals why he left the daytime soap and the role that won him not one, but two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

"General Hospital" head writer Ron Carlivati tweeted about a newcomer hitting Port Charles and now Soap Opera Network has the details! Per a rep for the show, actor/model Ryan Paevey is joining the cast of the soap in the contract role of Nathan West, a detective working for the Port Charles Police Department.

Hartley Sawyer will soon be departing "The Young and the Restless," a CBS representative confirms to Soap Opera Network. First reported by Daytime Confidential, we're told that Sawyer is currently wrapping up his run as Kyle Abbott, the son of Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).

“The Young and the Restless’” Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) is in for a surprise come 2014 in the form of a very unexpected blast from her past: Ian Ward, the former cult leader she knew back in the 80s, is headed to Genoa City!

Thaao Penghlis (ex-Tony DiMera, "Days of our Lives") is set to reprise his role as Victor Cassadine on ABC's "General Hospital" in the new year, confirms a show representative to Soap Opera Network. The actor last played the role more than 30 years ago, when the character met his supposed death, but with the actor returning does that mean that the brother of Anthony and Mikkos Cassadine is in fact alive? You'll just have to tune in to find out during the all important February sweeps ratings period!

It looks like “The Young and the Restless’” Summer (Hunter King) has one more name to add to her Christmas gift list this year: Esmerelda, her new friend/fellow model!
