Days back to losing viewers i knew they wouldn’t build on last week at least the drop wasn’t huge but those demos are scary they are very bad especially both of them.

    • cab

At least it did not lose the complete 100 000.

  • Secret Squirrel

Another week closer to Sally and Kay starting on Y&R. Can’t come soon enough.

    • charlie bracken

i agree with that, nice too see they gained a little but their 18-49’s Yikes they haven’t had much luck in the past few months in that area at all. The Baby fall out has been awful, even the Turkey day show was just bad.

    • JBT

      So true.

    • Amie

We almost there. This is the last week of November.

  • Dave

Days lost all the fans they went up last week in ALL of the demos. The show is catching fire alright and it’s going down in flames. Dena Higley is the worst Days could have brought back.

    • Paul

Days is getting same ratings since her material started airing in August lol been no gains at all yes a had little bump last week but in terms how Days is overall they no better off than before the new stuff started airing and she was part of the old writing team as well. What a fool Corday is he never learns thinking she save the show i never remembered Days getting ratings as bad as this going into a December especially in the demos.

      • The only time Days’s ratings have ever been this low consistently is when Higley is at the helm. How she keeps her dog leash on Corday is incomprehensible, except that I can only believe Sony & NBC want to be rid of the show so they let Corday & Higley keep on destroying it. Every single character is unlikable, immoral and selfish. The fact that JJ blacking out and being sexually assault is portrayed as him cheating shows how out of touch this show is.

        • Dave

I hate a lot of the characters on Days because of the writing but Ken thinks it’s great. NBC thinks it’s great. The show’s had an ugly uncomfortable energy to it since 2015. Even the vets are getting written badly. Kayla and Steve I used to have respect for but they covered up Joey’s murder and are really bad parents. I’ve lost interest in them because of that. I think they are major hypocrites. Hope is so bad with Rafe and with her kids. It’s bad I don’t recognize her. I can’t give John and Marlena any reaction because their storylines are boring ever since they had to visit John’s past again. All said, the show is terrible. The new recast for Abby is there and she hasn’t proven anything yet so I don’t understand the people jumping up and down for her. Wait until she has a scene with Chad to know if they have chemistry. Pictures don’t prove anything. I watch Days when I’m in the mood but most shows I have to turn off after 15 or 20 minutes. It’s as if I’m watching strangers because Dena Higley writes most everyone out of character. She might have history with Days but she doesn’t respect the history of the characters.

        • diuran

Agreed. Higley keeps bringing the show down and now this time it’s with Quan. Days demos are atrocious. The Higley/Quan storylines are huge failures and now they are equating sexual assault with cheating. The show thinks bringing back day players, characters who only appeared few times and other characters that viewers aren’t that interested in will help the show but it hasn’t while continuing refuse to bring back the characters that most want back. The characters they have brought back have brought back such as Sonny, Chloe, Kim, Shane and others have been a huge bust. The writing on Days since the 50th/reboot has been some the worst in the show’s history and the writing currently airing is the worst of the soaps left.

      • Dave

Days is worse for ratings since her stuff started airing. At least in most demos they are. The show doesn’t have direction. All these couples they shove down fans throats are bad. I thought the worst of it last week was Hope and Rafe at the courthouse. I’m happy that Jennifer is single because I can still watch her but Hope? When Hope is around Rafe or Ciara I block her out. It’s scary how Sony doesn’t care how bad Dena Higley is ruining Days. Her writing goes back all the way to 2015 and most of it kept airing when she was taking a leave so I blame her for a lot of what’s going wrong with Days. Ken can’t brainwash me into believing the stuff that was on from January to September wasn’t any of Dena’s stuff because it was!

        • Tammy Bostick

no kidding rope is a joke they need to hang it it’s disgusting !! hope used to be one of my fav characters now she makes me sick of course she was best with Bo she needs to remember her character and tell cordsy to stick it a lot of the vets do !!

          • robert

Rope is dull and a big turnoff

  • James Spaldin

The post is about B&B loss – but when you look at the figures there is a positive for abc’s General Hospital being more popular (this week) with younger viewers and up across all viewers – why are SON so mean with approach?

    • TV&MovieBuff

No matter what headline SON puts up there — the numbers are what they are. B&B still set a new low even if SON doesn’t put it in the head line. And no matter what they put someone is going to complain about it. A few weeks ago they focused on Days small rise instead of the losses, and everyone beat them over the head about trying to spin a small loss.

SON is in the business of trying to get people to look at their posts. They have to use headlines that will make people want to look. The advertisers on this site want the hits. SON is not in the business of trying to appease fans. They are in the business of providing fans with information.

  • monzo

Poor B&B, but they’ve made their own mess! Focusing on grandfather’s Eric love life is not demo friendly. Ridge & Brooke were big in the target demos 20 years ago, but I think many of their fans are over 50 now, so they don’t work for demos anymore. The only demo friendly storyline right now is that Nicole/Zande/Sasha triangle, but they repeat this tale way too soon to attract attention.

    • robert

i think copying the same stories have turned off viewers

  • FoxyRoxyy

Yikes for Y&R again. This is a sweeps month and they are down hundreds of thousands in the important demos compared to last year. Mal has not brought in any new viewers. CBS and Sony can’t be happy with his results.

    • Martin

      ITA with you!

    • charlie bracken

What “results” is that HMM, Still On the Young Blaming game are we? Seriously I’m Not surprised by these Numbers, The Baby fall out has been Bad and even the Turkey day show wasn’t good either. I mean we have what another week to go before Sally and Kay start to fix what Pratt left them, you can’t expect Miracles. No I’m Not Nuts and MY Mind is clear. Your still going to have your “Logic” and I’ll have mine. If CBS wasn’t “happy” as you clam with Young’s work then he would be fired By now and we would have a New EP But since that isn’t the case I suggest getting off your high horse and let the man do His JOB which is to Fix what was left him by JFP and Pratt.

      • Bantilau Regnies

Sally and Kay won’t fix anything. They are gonna pretend the stories they don’t like never happened.

And yes, it’s the EP’s job to bring viewers, of course it is.

        • truth

given the last interview of the new/old writers..ratings will not improve..

          • robert

i saw the interview and was not impressed

          • charlie bracken

I was “impressed” by what she said IMO she told the truth. The fans have been saying the same things for eyars, I saw nothing wrong with the interview. Everyone needs to give the lady a chance before just throwing her under the bus, we all Bitched and moaned about Pratt I get that But she worked Under Bill as did kay, I’m not going to pass judegment on her untill i see what she has planed.

          • ScottinPhilly

I agree Charlie. SSM has a good handle on what’s not working. Also, she has the survey results that was done a year or so ago about what characters people like. I was a little concerned that she did not mention younger characters (it is the YOUNG and the Restless after all) but based on the recent casting calls, I don’t think that will be an issue. I think the target audience for the interview was long-term viewers so that’s why she focused on long standing characters.

          • charlie bracken

Bingo, even when she said she wasn’t going to recast “adam” those fans were having fits, it doesn’t mean she isn’t going to bring him back sometime in the near future But she wants to focus on what we have now which is fixing Pratt’s crap.

        • charlie bracken

OH please The EP can only do so much, I have said these Too many times Pratt writes the stories, Young can give his “ideas” to him or Her and that is it He can’t rewrite anything that is on the page, he can offer suggestions but that is it. as for sally fixing the stories she will it’s called “rewrites” every hear of that word Hmm, everything we are seeing is still Pratt which hasn’t brought back any of the viewers for the past few months. The Baby Fall out along with the Turkey day show was bad, Not Young’s fault but it’s On pratt’s head.

          • Bantilau Regnies

Why are you talking about the EP?

      • FoxyRoxyy

Charlie, as usual, you are all over the place. The numbers don’t lie, as you have said. These low ratings that Mal Young is getting, as Executive Producer, will affect the future of the show.

        • charlie bracken

Now it’s Back to The “Numbers don’t lie” routine” Funny, when I have repeatedly Said These are NOT Young’s Numbers these are PRATT’s end of story. But your “Logic” is let’s blame young for all the show’s woes including their Demos for which have been “Bad” for months if you have been paying any attention too. The “Future of the show” I see now, your Just wishing Bad karma on the man who has done Nothing Wrong expect do His JOB which is make the production better and watch the budget and give any Ideas to Sally.

          • FoxyRoxyy

I am NO fan of JFP, but when she was EP, you blame her for low ratings but when Mal is EP, he is not to blame. You contradict yourself Charlie.

          • charlie bracken

Now it’s The old “I’m Contradicting Myself routine” funny, Because Mal didn’t Create these “mess” JFP did along with Pratt, you want someone who is “contradicting themselves It’s You Not me. I’m Only speaking the Truth for which you don’t seem to care to listen too why? You have already Made up your Mind on who is to blame for two years of bad stories ect.. it’s Young.

          • ScottinPhilly

You are comparing apples to oranges. JFP got to bring in her new writing team with her and so it was fair to evaluate her at the onset. Mal had to start sooner than planned due to JFP being let go before the original plan due to Jamey from Daytime Confidential getting rumors started about her. Then CBS/Sony decided to keep CP on until the end of his contract rather than buying him out. As I’ve said the before, the show has been quietly cutting back on budget for 6 months knowing ratings would likely fall.

Sony/CBS is not expecting a turnaround at this point and Mal will be fine as long as numbers are strong for February sweeps. If not, then he will likely be given until May and then shown the door. I don’t think this will be the case though. He had to work with a co-EP/HW for several months who obviously stopped caring about the job months ago. This decision to keep him on was made by Sony/CBS.

          • charlie bracken

Exactly You took the words right out my mouth!!

          • FoxyRoxyy

Seriously?? Jamey Giddens plays into this mess? Seriously? Bunch of bull!

          • charlie bracken

a bunch of “bull” he was the one who broke the story about JFP being let go and he also had the Story about Sally being Hired after News Broke about Pratt being let go. So your “Logic” stinks.

      • jonboy

LOL @ all the armchair critics on here!

    • Amie

You need to stop and shut up with your complains. The show went up last week.Mal is doing a great job.Stop with demo complains. The show is doing better since Jill is out and Charles is still here.Charles will be gone next month.

      • FoxyRoxyy

I know, sweetie. Demos mean nothing. My bad.

        • charlie bracken

The Demos do mean something They bring in the MONEY for all the shows week after week, Y&R’s has been either breaking record lows Or they remain steady.

          • FoxyRoxyy

Mal’s demos have been terrible since he took over. So much advertising money lost.

          • charlie bracken

OH good grief again with these are “Mal’s demos” Their demos if you have been paying any attention to have been like this Before Mal Took over, so don’t give this up on Him. Pratt has been bleeding viewers in all those categories for well over a Year, they have not gained expect for the 25-54’s but that is usually it for them.

      • JayTN

Don’t waste your time & energy with that troll. Every comment is the same. This person could copy-and-paste every single comment they type on this board. I’ve blocked them and it makes for a much better environment.

    • Kara

Sweeps is obsolete and has been for years. Networks now do programming all year round so there’s no such thing as sweeps anymore

      • FoxyRoxyy

Um, soaps have been year round since the beginning of tv. But thanks for the insight.

      • JayTN

The sweeps months (November, February, May & July) may be obsolete in terms of big event programming, but the networks still use the ratings during these four months to set their ad rates, that is, how much they can charge advertisers. That advertising still makes up the bulk of a network’s profit.

        • FoxyRoxyy

          The expert on everything speaks.

          • JayTN

I’ve never said anything rude or offensive to you. It’s a shame you couldn’t extend the same courtesy to me. Oh, well…you’re blocked.

        • Lorena

They do not use sweep ratings anymore. If they did GH and DAYS would be canceled by now

          • JayTN

Uh, actually they do. Learn some facts before typing nonsense.

    • ScottinPhilly

Good news is that the show seems to have bottomed out and may be on a recovery. In the past, total viewers increase first with the older demos followed by a recovery in younger demos. Next week ratings report may also show an uptick with only 3 eps and no eps on the lower rated days. We will know more after a few weeks of data.

A month from now, it will be a moot point since ratings will be up due to new stories. The show has been treading water in old stories for a few months now.

      • FoxyRoxyy

lol We know. Numbers will rise in Jan & Feb because of seasonal change. Sally Sussman, who can’t write a storyline to save her life, will be credited to the seasonal uptick.

        • charlie bracken

Can’t write a Story to save her life, Funny Need I remind you she will have Kay Alden with her to help Out in that regard didn’t you get the “memo” saying Kay Alden would be the Story Conslutant Guess not since your obviously Look at things through rose colored glasses. I mean give the lady a chance to write first she did work with Bill.

          • ScottinPhilly

Also, let’s not forget that both KA and SSM submitted long term story projections two years ago when they were up for the job before JFP went over AM’s head to get CP hired. AM knows what they proposed and would not have agreed to the hiring back in the summer when the decision was made if she didn’t think the long term story wasn’t strong.

          • charlie bracken

I remember that well, JFP wasn’t having these two ladies write her show that was when she went over AM and Kent’s heads to hire Pratt. Now we are left with nothing but Crappy stories that have not brought in the viewers which isn’t a total surprise. KA and SSM both know the show and characters so I’m not going to pass judgement on them yet, I loved Ka’s Veronica story when she shot Nikki back in 98 that was creepy.

        • ScottinPhilly

Will rise and we will start to see YOY improvement by Feb. Last year’s Feb numbers were not great and the first hint that the show’s ratings were on a downward trend.

        • jonboy

Some people are never happy? Who would you suggest as head writer?

        • TruDat

          MMHMM

      • charlie bracken

Thank you scottin, you took the words right my mouth.

  • Amie

Its about time Y&R went up total viewers. The show is good last week. The fall out about Christian is good now.

  • jesse

What a bad sweeps month for Days just continues another month of awful ratings for the hacks Corday and Higley.Hope’s trial was a snooze didn’t bother watching thursday or friday bc Rope is a super couple only in the hacks minds and most of the other couples are boring.Days will always be around 2m and have low demos with the two hacks in charge.

  • Ann Marie Blon

How can GH be getting good ratings, when the show has one lone terrible storyline going on. Shouldn’t the show have a couple good storylines going on at the same time.

    • SoapArmageddon

      So true.

    • Sean

Apparently the audience watching disagrees, shows the internet audience doesnt speak for the majority of viewers. All the complaints about Sonny being on too much, yet the ratings go up when he is.

      • Ann Marie Blon

I don’t understand all the love for a thug who has people killed for a living. I just don’t care for Sonny or Carly or the fact that Morgan got killed.

        • Cliff W

Thats the whole reason I watch the show is Sonny and the mob. But Morgan getting killed was a wtf thing. But I enjoy it I actually like it better when they start doing half mob half other stuff.

          • Kevin Little

Honestly, I’m enjoying “General Hospital” a thousand times moreso than I was a couple of years ago when it was the Luke Spencer show. Anthony Geary leaving 15 months ago has pumped new life into this show.

        • jasonm1980

Morgan was a terrible character, in my opinion. Dumb as a stump and glad he’s gone. Now they need to kill off one or more of Alexis’ kids. I do agree with you on the Sonny thing. When he got away with murdering AJ, it was the straw that broke the camel’s back. And how Michael could have forgiven him for that is a suspension of reality.

          • jonboy

            Kill off Alexis!

  • SoapArmageddon

I enjoyed Days last week but the ratings period covered here is Nov 14-18. That was the week when the Theresa farewell story was on almost everyday. I liked seeing old favourites Kim and Shane again, but bringing them back for this dumb, contrived story did fans a disservice.

As long as Dena Higley’s name is attached to Days most people who watched the show before are not going back.

  • JBT

Not the best sweeps month for any of the soaps. I just read on tvbythenumbers that even though network ratings are down again this year for prime time shows that not one show had been officially cancelled and that networks are becoming more tolerant of their eroding audiences. Bad ratings are a problem across the board.

    • JayTN

A recent development in primetime has been more patience from the networks. A series has to be doing really poorly to be pulled after just a few weeks, which was once a common occurrence. Series, especially new series, that end after 13 episodes (new shows are typically given 13 episodes with additional episodes, usually 9, if ratings warrant) are de facto canceled. Meaning, they are effectively canceled, but not officially. Series that have had their runs capped at 13 are “Conviction” and “Notorious” (production actually stopped after episode 10) on ABC, “Pure Genius” on CBS, “Frequency” and “No Tomorrow” on CW and “Scream Queens”, “The Exorcist”, “Pitch” and “Son of Zorn” on Fox. (Although NBC’s new comedy “The Good Place” will not produce more than 13 episodes, that is due to Kristen Bell’s contract and not a reflection of the ratings.)

However, I wouldn’t read too much into network patience in primetime having anything to do with having patience in daytime.

  • robert

Days having numbers like this during sweeps is sad. Y&R continues to be bad, those demos are terrible. Y&R being the lead in to B&B may be also dragging that show down

  • JayTN

“Days” just can’t seem to get any traction going. The soap did manage to string together three weeks of increases (week of 9/19, 9/26 & 10/3), but since then it has been up/down almost on a weekly basis. “Days” seems stubbornly stuck in the 2.1 or 2.2 million viewer range. It’s been that way since February, when the most recent decline began. “Days” started 2016 with 2.91 million viewers (week of 1/4/16) and over the course of nearly 11 full months has lost 700,000 to 800,000 viewers.

In fairness, however, the other soaps are also down from those first-week-of-January numbers. B&B is down 377,000 viewers; GH is down 436,000 viewers and Y&R is down 761,000 viewers. However, B&B, GH & Y&R all have more room to fall than does “Days”. Even with all the declines, Y&R at 4.6 million viewers still looks better than “Days” at just 2.2 million viewers.

    • robert

Days having numbers like these during sweeps does not bode well for the future of the show

No matter what the ratings are, I’m enjoying DOOL and will continue to be a devoted fan until it no longer entertains me. I find the show exciting! However, the shows live and die by the ratings. Maybe the execs will flip a coin to decide if DOOL continues beyond September of 2017 or there could be a healthy rise in ratings before the decision is made in January. Regardless, I will continue to post and will not hesitate in reporting the demise of each and every of the remaining soaps in the obituary section of the Salem Spectator, LOL!

    • nancyw

The storylines are much better and I sure hope it is not cancelled.

    • walynoft

I have been watching DAYS since 1975. I
have had a love/hate relationship with show for the past 41 years. I
am very sad to say this honestly, that if news came of the show’s
cancellation officially, I would be very sad yes, but not I wouldn’t be
shocked or surprised. The show has just gotten worse and worse ever
since last year, starting with the show’s 50th anniversary episodes.
      So who knows.

    • arnirc

The show brought on terrible writers and
kept one who is known for ruining the show more than once and driving
viewers away from the show. Days brought these problems on itself by
“spitting” in many viewers faces and then telling them that they don’t
need or want them as viewers anymore and those viewers left because no
longer wanted to deal with Days bs and lies. All of the current
storylines and those that took place during the 50th have been massively
terrible and the supposed new storylines from the “new season” don’t
look to be any good either.

    • cab

I am with you Salem Spectator. Just because ratings are low, does not mean it is not entertaining. If it gets cancelled, I pray that it wont, I will record every single last episode to remind me of a time in my life that I cherished.

  • jesse

The other 3 soaps had their thanksgiving around the 23rd of november.Tuned into Days and their’s is on the 28th how pathetic is this soap and the teen -young adults actors are so bad.

    • JayTN

“Days” also tends to have end-of-school events, such as prom, towards the end of June. Time has always been kind of fluid for the soap.

      • cab

        Or every other soap.

    • Salem Spectator

…The difference of just one episode because none of the soaps had new episodes on the 24th or 25th. Today, DOOL showed how to have Thanksgiving with a capital T whereas the other soaps were less impressive with small t’s…ABSOLUTELTY PATHETIC are those who nitpick, which must somehow makeup for the disastrous NEW LOW for B&B. Those triangles are turning their viewers into blockheads!

      • cab

And because they film 5-6 months in advance, they can not predict pre-emptions
        .

      • Ang

Did you watch the other 3 shows?

  • cab

Everyone seem to concentrate on a certain writing team for their soaps downfall in the ratings. Y&R, B&B and Days. The sad fact is that viewership for the television networks are falling. In order for a show to survive, it has to attract new viewers. That is a hard thing to do with so much competition. I think that the writers at Days are still trying to figure this out with all the new stuff that they try, but they have got to remember who the primary audiences are for daytime. Now if the networks were to care about all viewers and not just focusing on one category(male viewers), they could or would be happily satisfied with those numbers. And maybe the advertisers too.

    • Dave

This is not Dena’s first trip to the rodeo. This is her third with Days. She had nothing to figure out. There were couples that fans already liked on the show. She threw everything that TomSell did away. I was a happy viewer until she started with her destruction of so many characters in 2015. Dena knows who her primary audience is. She doesn’t care. She writes for her pets and ruins good couples or characters anyway. That’s her problem and Days problem, and that is why I’ve stopped watching as regularly as I once did. I know that I’m not the only one. Most people I know hate her writing because it ends up in the same place each time. With Hope acting or doing something crazy, Rafe and his family and poor stunts.

      • diuran

Yes Dena knows and she doesn’t care at all about the audience it’s about pushing her faves along with her stunts and hacked based writing.

    • daysdrowns

Way to go Days! Perhaps this is there way of attracting a more diverse audience. Yea, have T-Boz attack Hope in jail. Reminds me of the Bad Girls Club except it is with woman in their late 40’s and 50’s. Perhaps they are also giving the whole trump tv a shot to capture another demographic. Can’t wait to see this play out.

      • agebias

who cares how old they are. At least we know they are not fighting over the last tampon.

        • poorhope

perhaps they’re arguing over the last Vienna sausage in the can. exciting days to come.

    • diuran

There was a report that came out last year showing male viewership for daytime and Days was shown to have the lowest male viewership among
daytime programs counted in the report and Y&R had the highest male viewership of the four soaps. Males are counted in the total viewers. Days low viewership is due the ptb bringing on hack writers who aren’t good writers putting out bad storylines and letting them play out their agendas such as propping their faves at the expense of other characters while also getting rid of characters that should have never been gotten rid of and allowing them to purposefully drive viewers away by alienating those viewers. Y&R recent problems are due to Pratt’s bad writing and JFP mismanagement of the show.

  • Salem Spectator

R&B superstar and five-time Grammy winner Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins, best known as one-third of the chart-topping group TLC, will be featured in a two-month story arc on DOOL beginning tomorrow. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/b61cff0e4dcfac3e3167717f9c28fa0c14f1653d8ea2d1f6ae1fe1da508fee97.jpg

    • noscrubs

If she aint performing during the Salem Prison Holiday Party..I DON”T CARE!!!!!!!!

  • FoxyRoxyy

CBS had no press releases for its daytime lineup for the November sweep results. Bad news for Mal Young. He lost hundreds of thousands of Y&R viewers. Advertising rates will fall.

  • ellieng

I have a bad feeling Days of our lives will be canceled by fall 2017 since there ratings are so low

    • Tammy Bostick

it’s deserves to be it’s disgusting

  • dianna

I bemoan the intentional destruction of Days, a
50-year-old series. Shame on the writers, producers, and directors.

    • werner

I love days new story line. People been watching it 40 years…wish Bo
Brady was there to rescue Hope i am hoping demios brings him back with Zack…demos
is fabulous but he looks better for Adrienne… I am so glad Teresa left she was never right for brady… I loved kim and shane being on the show..I hope they come back with the other kids and eve…Love the new Abby but she is not that pretty and she looks nothing like her brother JJ…JJ is fine but not that great at acting and needs to leave rafes sister alone…Gabi has spock ears I like the gay guys that are back but they act very straight none of my gay friends act like that…Why is Maggie so annoying all of a sudden..maybe Victor is to old for her and she needs a younger man…Keep up the good work.

  • daysgreatagain

A bunch of whiny wannabe soap critics when it comes to Days all over the internet! Soap crybabies that want everything their way! All this finger pointing and negativity needs to stop. There are people that still enjoy the show and want to see it succeed. If you want to post a fair, balanced and cordial discussion that is fine. But if you want to continue all this on line rioting over a beloved soap I say “Stop it.” No other soap can say they had Trump on it! I am sure Melania watches it. This Days backlash needs to stop. what happened in the past year happened and lets move on! I am proud of Days for making History.

    • Dave

I will post my opinions about Days, good or bad, when I feel like it. I will criticize Dena Higley for the incompetent narrow minded writer that she is anytime I feel like it. The show is garbage. Next!

      • diuran

I agree with you and I also will post my opinions about the show just as I have about the other soaps. Days has become truly awful and the poor demos and ratings are showing it. The show went out of its way to alienate and drive away viewers. Dena has failed multiple times with Days, drives away viewers and props and protects her chosen faves while also destroying characters and actors she thinks are a threat to one of her faves.

      • cab

You can criticize Dena all you want, but there are actors, producers, and other people that have to try to make her stuff work. It is a series that has got to stand on its own .

      • Tammy Bostick

well said this once great show is a wreck and cordsy and his minions including dena should be ashamed !!! it’s disgusting and thexgreat actors that brought quality to the show are gone days deserves to be taken off air!!!

    • scott16475

DAYS is garbage. The fact that you’re not embarrassed by Days or Trump tells me all I need to know. It explains why you like Days.

      NEXT!

      • cab

        A true sports fan NOW!

  • soaprealityfan

Nothing to do with “wanting things our way”. DAYS absolutely STINKS, plain and simple. Among the reasons? Using the same cafe set for a location meant to be NYC, then a freeway stop off “Highway 57” and then a few days later now the same set is in Salem near the town square. Utterly sloppy and unforgivable, as it is an avoidable mistake. The stories are not better. I don’t give a damn about most of the characters either, therefore, who Gabi or Chad choose is entirely irrelevant to me. I expect cancellation news next month, and if not then, definitely the year after. The show is just beyond boring. I have to watch it at 1.9x the normal speed just to get through it all, as the endless hand-wringing about the 3 stooges, Abigail in the attic, and a dozen other stupid things totally wore me out!

    • cab

You work with what you are given. All those stupid storylines were a desperate way to attract new viewers. The soaps have to reinvent themselves to attract new viewers with all the competition that is out there. What would you come up with?

      • soaprealityfan

What would I come up with? I already wrote what it would take – that being to NOT insult viewer’s intelligence by using the same set for three different locations. But DAYS can’t even get something that basic right, so no wonder we are seeing all the other stuff we have now. I don’t care how low their budget is, that gaffe is completely unacceptable. From there, we also need MUCH better stories. Ones that make sense logically, are not tired soap cliches, and are also not contrived plot points. Days has a habit of trying to dictate reverse writing and force-feeding ridiculous “explanations” for things after it decides to end stories, even though they had been leading us on for months with the promise of a good reveal that never ultimately happens. They got rid of too many stories and characters too quickly, and now we are stuck with boring garbage that is a chore to watch.

  • daysgreatagain

Love the fact that the small groups of unhappy viewers on this board have
passion for our great show; Days of our Lives. We will all come together and be proud!

  • Dianne

When I last posted last week, the last 3 threads were not yet posted yet. So, I will just concentrate on this one.
How DOOL fans feel about their show is how I feel about BB. BB is not the same show I watched since Day 1. I actually feel satisfaction seeing low numbers for women viewers. I’m not surprised. It serves Bell right.
As for YR, I continually notice disagreements on the current HW. I don’t think that’s quite fair. The problem with all soaps is when viewers leave they rarely come back, and there aren’t newer viewers to replace them with. You can’t blame the new HW for that.

  • stevebass

All soaps vary from day to day (some even scene to scene)…which is a big problem with capturing an audience. For ex, I tuned into one the other day and basically yawned and rolled my eyes. i tuned in today to the same show and found it so good and interesting. I guess it depends on the writers. Just something i noticed the past couple of month with all these writing changes.
