I will never understand ABC. For several weeks GH was up more in Total Viewers plus rose in 18-49 and 18-34 and not one press release from them. This week GH is barely up in Total Viewers and falls in both demos and we get a press release.

    • SoapFansTogether

It’s not the week, it’s the consistency over weeks, months and a whole season.

The thing that your beloved replacement show “The Chew” with its season average of 0.6-07 in the key demo (in sharp contrast to GH’s 1.2) continues to lack. Now matter how desperately ABC tries to spin it into a success

(they as well as CBS certainly know why – advertisers are increasingly frustrated with the ratings decline in the key demos since the cancellations of soaps we’ve witnessed since 2009).

By the way, GH hit a 2.3 household rating TWICE the week we’re talking about. That alone IS newsworthy.

      • Mike

Oh wow The Chew is my show now? When did I start producing it and where is my check?

I hope my check from it is equal to the one that Cartini pays you to defend them every week on message boards

      • Nick

Man, your lips must be exhausted from all your kissing of Craptini’s butt.

    “Bad week”??

B&B is still up BIG (more than 400,000 viewers) in comparison to last year.

    So are ALL the others.

If you sum it all up, they have gained 1.3 millions in comparions to the same week last year.

So, let’s call it what it is: another GOOD week for the one daytime genre that continues – by far – to draw the highest ratings in the women 18-49 key demo!!

    • SoapFansTogether

Oops, I meant “they have gained 1.3 million VIEWERS”, of course :-)

    • KansasGuest

Whoever does the titles is ridiculous. Anyone who reads ratings can see that soap viewership has improved dramatically compared to last year. But, they always have to emphasize the negative for some reason. It’s reached the point where I believe the opposite of the title because it has no credibility any more.

  • Melissa Lay

It makes me mad because they pre-empt B&B in Tulsa (KOTV Channel 6) from it’s regular time slot (when everyone else in the country gets to see it) from 12:30 pm to 1:00 am! I don’t have a DVR and it’s aggravating!! I don’t want a DVR, I used to have one and taped too many shows. Why can’t B&B just be shown in it’s regular place, instead of 1 am? Why must the Tulsa station show 1 hr. of news?

  • Miss gracie

The numbers were really low this time last year for B&B. Why? Hope and Liam still trying to make it. Numbers drop week to week right now. Why? Lope redo still trying to make it. Get the picture B&B? No Lope. Anything but Lope! Got in?

  • Richie.

I think he meant to headline “Bad week for DAYS”.

  • PatF

Yeah…the heading really doesn’t accurately reflect the big picture.
Versus last year all four soaps are up in every demo.
YR up almost a half million over LY.

  • kevingm

The heading refers to the soaps’ performances in relation to the week before, not the year before. Always has.

    • PatF

When the change is that minimal they need to come up with a different headline.
      It’s not a “bad” week.

  • Ella Tootie Brown

Y&R should bring Drucilla Back…And B&B should bring back Steffy…and Add Hiliary to their team to steam things up!!

  • Bexx

Everytime ABC puts out a press release GH numbers start dwindling, until it ultimately flatlines for who knows how long this time. You would think they would have learned by now, or at least heed my warnings. LOL

  • Oh my!

As long as Y&R continues to showcase ‘Dylan” day in and day out, this show’s ratings are never going to improve. He’s been in the spotlight for exactly a year now and it would have already happened by now. It blows my mind that an hour long show has basically been turned over to a handful of characters including Chelsea and Avery for a year. OMG, there are another 30 or so much more interesting cast members that are not being written for often enough. . WTF Phelps?????
